I started my first business at 15 years old. (With nothing but a skateboard) 👇 Fast forward a decade, and I've now launched 7 startups. Spoiler alert: Most of them have failed. --- Backstory: I'm documenting my journey to build a unicorn, AKA a Billion $ Startup. Since I was a kid, I've always wanted to solve the world's biggest problems. And honestly, it seems easier to do this with a billion $ than without 🤷‍♂️ Now, let's cut to the fun stuff. --- So at 15 years old, my neighbor asked me to mow his lawn. He paid me $10/mow, which was a sweet deal. After 10 mows, I used the money to get a brand new lawn mower. But then, I needed clients. So I went door-to-door asking strangers if I could mow their lawns. Although I was probably the world's worst salesperson at the time, 7 people somehow said yes. Just 1 problem: I needed transportation. My solution? I would skateboard to clients' houses while pushing my lawn mower in front of me. At 18 years old, I started running a window cleaning business. I cleaned windows on tall ladders, knocked on doors, and managed a team for two summers. Fun fact: a lady once made me clean her window sills with a toothbrush. Good times. At 20, I launched LocalStudent. It's like Uber, but for home services (like lawn mowing). We've been featured on national TV, CBC and The Toronto Star. We've scaled across 30+ cities and students have completed 10,000+ home services and earned half a million dollars on our platform. A couple failed startups in the meantime... NowX. It's like ChatGPT, but after you type in your question, you get connected with a real person who answers your question over an instant live video call. P.S. this was pre-ChatGPT. TapTalk.
