Clio - Cloud-Based Legal Technology

I lead the new customer acquisition growth strategy at Clio, the world's leading cloud-based technology platform for the legal industry. 

As VP of Growth Marketing, I serve our global Growth team of 25+ incredible Clions across Canada, the United States, Ireland, and Australia. 

Our Growth team is responsible for Demand Generation, Performance Marketing, Events, Field Marketing, Industry Partnerships, Channel Marketing, International Expansion (EMEA and APAC),  and overseeing our industry-leading, 5,000+ attendee Clio Cloud Conference.

I have played a key role in helping scale Clio organically from $30M to $200M+ USD in Annual Recurring Revenue. 

In July 2024, Clio raised the largest funding round in Canadian tech history,  $900M USD, valuing the company at $3 Billion USD.

Founded in Vancouver in 2008 and with offices in Toronto, Calgary, and Dublin, Clio is used by more than 150,000 legal professional in 130+ countries.

Joined Clio as its first Director of Growth Marketing, contributing to accelerating growth past $100M+ USD in ARR, while we raised $360M USD in funding and achieved a $1.6B USD unicorn valuation.

Built out a high-performing global Growth team that scaled from 1 to 15 employees, distributed across Canada, Ireland, and the United States.

Oversaw top of the funnel customer acquisition programs, paid marketing channels, demand generation, marketing experimentation, and international expansion.

Partnered closely with our sales organization and the rest of the marketing team to drive Clio's growth and go to market strategy.

We built two internal communication products: 1) a beautiful mobile employee directory and org chart 2) a video communication tool for distributed teams.

Joined Influitive as the 40th employee and 5th marketing hire, leading the demand generation function. I had the opportunity to work with an incredible team to help Influitive grow revenue 10X during my tenure and establish the Advocate Marketing category.

> Supported growth from <$100K MRR to $10M ARR by developing a scalable and repeatable demand generation process and managing all marketing pipeline.
> Started as an individual contributor and grew to leading a team of five, overseeing all marketing programs, marketing operations, and data operations.
> Worked collaboratively with Influitive’s content marketing, customer marketing, product marketing teams to scale TOFU demand from 500 Inquiries per month to 4000+.
> Built out and implemented a world-class marketing stack including Marketo, Salesforce, Full Circle Insights and dozens of other technologies.
> Managed budgets for demand generation, technology, and events exceeding $1M per year.
> Worked closely with sales organization to create and launch a new outbound sales development process. Implemented lead scoring and account prioritization to help inbound and outbound sales development team. Supported sales team growth from 2 reps to a sales org of 30+.

Joined Indochino as one of the first 10 employees at its corporate HQ in Vancouver. Helped the ecommerce startup rapidly grow as it was making its first steps into becoming an omnichannel leader.

> One half of the marketing team that grew company revenue 350% in just 18 months, reaching $1 million in monthly revenue.
> Responsible for strategy and execution on all inbound marketing channels including email and social.
> Built up email marketing to be the top revenue channel for the company, including 380% revenue growth, 7x subscriber growth, and implementation of RFM email segmentation, all in a 12 month period.
> Grew social media revenue by 560% over 14 months through successful campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Reddit.
> Community Manager for the brand across the web, including being the point of contact for many of the company's top customers.
