10 years ago I was working as a security guard. One day, sat behind my security desk, I overheard some students talking about their A-Level results and their big plans for the future. Acceptance to Oxbridge. A real future. That day, I applied to an access course. That year, I worked my butt off. Full time employment and full time study. I received a 100% distinction rate - the only student in the country to do so - and got into Cambridge University (#1 in the world rankings that year). While at Cambridge I was asked to write an article for a friend's Bitcoin ATM business. Then to run the marketing for music festival. These roles combined my love of copywriting with my love of data and I was bitten by the growth bug. In the decade that followed I've worked with startups and scale-ups, primarily in B2B data, AI & Data Science. I've trained and retrained as a marketer, growth hacker, and product manager; cofounded two startups and successfully pitched & raised funds. I found I'm at my happiest when I'm solving problems and making things happen, so that's what I do every day.
