How to roll out new positioning so it doesn't feel like turning the company on its head.

Start small. Incremental steps.

Positioning is not one department's job but companies. 

In my last we the shift started from CEO and Marketing Manager at that time.

Then we wanted to get other people's opinions to share them across the company get ideas and so on.

Slowly you get done the research and you start bringing in other departments as sales product CS.

Most times I seen be the root of the problem things that are foundational.

Like positioning.

When was last time did you check if your position was relevant in this current time.

We have looked at and iterate it every 6 months.

By doing doing that consistently you don't need to turn company on it's head as you forget to iterate it.

Positoning is not marketing or sale or CS.

Is companies. Brands.

Before saying "let's do some outbound or run some paid ads"

Look at fundamentals first.

Your CRM shouldn't have opportunities that are not real.

How many opportunities are in CRM that have no real intention of buying?

They are made they're estimating some pipeline value $ but in reality, we all know it's full of shit.

That happens most time cause your website is trash.

Your buyer is curious so to know something but causes the website is not of any help he needs to book a call.

If I don't see things like:

- FAQ
- Pricing
- Why Us Section
- Clear Messaging

Did not want to make this post but. 

You know what a perfect ICP comes inbound but just because the role is more junior 

They disqualify it. 

When I was SDR & an intern at AR tech company I constantly had to do research for the CEO or Managers. 

• If we were looking for a solution 
• If I wanted to do some research on that topic 

I was always booking calls or going on ''demo calls''. 
I been rejected many times.

Even tho I reported it to CEO or manager and most time on the next call someone more senior will be on it .

I actually can't believe I wrote this but this is not the reason to disqualify. 

I Recently bought a new piece of software. 

Nobody wants to create a ticket or ask CS how to use their product.

Even if it takes a short 1min time. Nobody wants it.

There should be videos on their YT as most people after not finding them on the website will go right to YT search.

Use FAQ questions in form of videos and other questions that are asked by existing users.

But what if the competitor sees it.

Well, what do you care?

If you don't want to post it on the same YT channel you can create a new one, especially for that and make it private. And only sent links of existing users.

Lack of prioritization is a big problem in marketing teams.

There are so many things that can be done. 

Should we focus on: 

•ABM
•” fun” B2B content 
•create demand 
•video 
• TikTok 
• LinkedIn 
• SEO/SEM
• Better Offer/Product
• Create relationship aka marketing 
• Category creation 
• Paid advertisement 

and so on.

Many things work.

They all work. 

But will they work for you?

Compared to what they work better? 

Most time teams have 90 day period from jumping from listening to one guru to another one. 

They don't give time to work. 

That's why they say “ that didn’t work for us” 

No sweetheart you sabotaged it.

A lot of times happens they are forced to change back.

Something internally happens or is macroeconomic. 

So marketing teams all work. 

You don't need 10 stuff to work. 

You just need 1-3 motions to maximize it to the fullest.

The only way to maximize it is by doubling down and focusing on yourself, not others.

Go create some videos

Go get some podcasts

Turn on some more ads

These are tactics and if you go right at it still won't work as the foundation is not built the right way.

That's why we see all companies as the same.

They see they are different but their messaging is the same and their positioning is the same.

It's not what you say it's what you do.

Any growth motion starts with things that are connected to the product and customer.

- Do you know your customers & market?
- Your biggest competition is not competitor is status quo?

By doing that automatically while everyone goes right you go left.

You don't need to create a category you can just niche down to gain that competitive advantage.

Category creation is very deeply connected to product and POV.
Being faster doesn't mean creating new categories. 


Wider the foundation the higher the pyramid the building will be.
