🔥 7 erreurs en anglais pro qui font fuir vos collègues… et comment ne pas passer pour un mur en béton 🔥

Vous voulez que vos emails anglais donnent envie de répondre… et pas de disparaître dans un silence glacial digne du Pôle Nord ? ❄️

L’anglais pro, ce n’est pas juste de la grammaire.
C’est du ton, de la diplomatie, et parfois… de la survie relationnelle.

Voici les 7 erreurs que je vois trop souvent, et comment les transformer pour rester sympathique (et humain-e !) :

1️⃣ “I don’t understand.” ❌ → sec, froid.
 💡 Remplacez par : “I’m not sure I follow – could you clarify?”
 (Suggestion : ça fait beaucoup moins “mur en béton”)

2️⃣ “I need this by tomorrow.” ❌ → autoritaire.
 💡 Remplacez par : “Would it be possible to have this by tomorrow?”
 (Une petite douceur et tout le monde sourit)

3️⃣ “You’re wrong.” ❌ → brutal, même si c’est vrai.
 💡 Remplacez par : “I think there might be a misunderstanding.”
 (Parce que personne n’aime se prendre un « wrong » en pleine face)

4️⃣ “Do it.” ❌ → commande autoritaire… personne n’est votre esclave 😅
 💡 Remplacez par : “Could you please take care of this?”
 (Le charme fonctionne toujours mieux que la menace)

5️⃣ “Thanks.” (tout court) ❌ → peut paraître froid.
 💡 Remplacez par : “Thanks a lot, really appreciate it.”
 (Ou ajoutez un petit 😍 - ou pas-, si vous voulez être trendy)

6️⃣ “ASAP” ❌ → stress immédiat pour le destinataire.
 💡 Remplacez par : “At your earliest convenience”
 (L’anglais qui dit “vite” sans provoquer une crise cardiaque)

7️⃣ “No problem” ❌ → peut sonner sarcastique ou désinvolte.
 💡 Remplacez par : “My pleasure” ou “Glad to help”
 (Parce qu’on veut être sympa, pas un barista snob)

Quand j’ai cru qu’elle allait me dire “ils sont tous partis en ...” 😷 
Une de mes élèves RH me racontait une expérience qui l’avait profondément marquée.

Elle avait dû annoncer des licenciements dans son équipe. Le genre de moment qu’on ne vit pas sans y laisser un bout d’émotion.

Et là, elle me dit :
 « Deux jours plus tard, ils sont tous… »
Et moi, avec ma bonne mentalité bien française, je complète sans réfléchir :
 « ... 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐞̂𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐞 ? »

Elle éclate de rire.
 « Pas du tout ! Ils sont tous venus avec le sourire en me disant que c’était une occasion de partir découvrir autre chose. »

J’étais sidérée 😳!

L’histoire se passait au Canada 🇨🇦 , où le rapport à la perte d’emploi semble beaucoup plus apaisé.Là-bas, on parle de changement plus que de crise, de nouvelle page plutôt que de dernier chapitre.
Alors bien sûr, ce n’est pas une vérité universelle et perdre son emploi n’est jamais anodin — ni “fun”, mais j’ai trouvé fascinant ce regard plus lumineux sur le changement.

Et le plus beau dans tout ça ?
Cette élève a pu vivre cette expérience à l’étranger grâce à son anglais, et aujourd’hui, elle transmet tout ce savoir en France. 

Parce que parler une autre langue, c’est bien plus qu’apprendre du vocabulaire — c’est apprendre une autre façon de penser.

(Et que vous apprenez que “être dans le noir” n’est pas qu’une histoire de lumière.)

Hier, j’étais en ligne avec mon oncle des USA. Eh oui, ça arrive même aux meilleurs...

 Conversation classique… jusqu’au moment où il me demande :
 👉 “𝐷𝑜 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝐵𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝐹𝑟𝑖𝑑𝑎𝑦 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑠 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚?”

Et là, évidemment, mon cerveau a décidé de faire la femme hyper cultivée et je me lance, sûre de moi, version Wikipédia humaine :
 « Hmm… ça doit avoir un rapport avec le crash boursier — Black Thursday — et après les gens ont dû acheter comme des fous. Non ? »

… Silence de mon oncle: « Not even close. »

Il m’explique alors que ça n’a rien à voir.
Que 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 = passer “from the red to the black”, quand les comptes d’un commerce repassent enfin dans le positif avant Noël.
Et là… révélation.

En France, nous on dit :
 💚 « être dans le vert »
 ❤️ « être dans le rouge »
 🖤 mais jamais « être dans le noir ».
Alors qu'en anglais, si vous dites : "to the green" au lieu de "to the black", on va vous regarder avec des yeux de merlans frits 

Bref :
 👉 même la compta a son choc culturel.
 👉 même nos couleurs ne veulent pas dire la même chose selon la langue.
 👉 et même quand on enseigne l’anglais… on se fait rattraper par un oncle américain.

Allez, je retourne revoir mes couleurs.
Visiblement, le seul “black” que je maîtrisais hier…c’était le café que je ne bois pas.
