Hi, I'm Alice Egan, founder of SaaS Savvy. While at Zendesk, I went from rookie Solutions Consultant to closing $1M+ deals with San Francisco tech companies and UK fintechs. But at the start of my Presales career, I didn’t know APIs from AWS! I was constantly anxious I’d be exposed as - dun dun - an imposter. And worse, that I’d miss my targets because I didn’t truly “get” the software or API-based integrations I was selling. In a futile attempt to “get technical”, I tried learning to code. Not only did I find it boring, coding didn’t give me the words to confidently talk to customers about our software, platform, and API - aka tech sales 101! So I came up with Concepts Over Code, my own method of mastering foundational tech terminology and concepts without learning to code. This completely changed the game for me. Teaching myself to talk about software helped me confidently - and intelligently - elevate product pitches and demos while connecting to the broader tech landscape. The result? Three promotions in three years and alignment to the most lucrative territories in SF and UK Fintechs. Learning to talk tech - not code it - also helped me: - Buy a home - Pay off my college loans - Secure a job transfer to London - Gain the financial freedom to quit corporate and start SaaS Savvy Today, my mission is to equip AEs, SCs, CSMs, and Go-To-Market teams with the technical foundations in software you need to sell big, earn bigger, and unlock limitless career opportunity in tech sales. — Outside of SaaS Savvy, I’m a proud college French and linguistics major, 2x study abroader (Paris + Dakar), and avid reader of historical fiction. I’ve been lucky to call New York, New Orleans, Brussels, San Francisco, London, and (currently) Berlin home. I’m obsessed with voice notes from friends, my dad’s Boomer WhatApps, my mom’s emoji game, when my brother and sister find crossover material, my brother’s dog Butters, my boyfriend’s jokes, freshly popped popcorn, WWII anything, low-fi house music, and walking wherever I can.
