New Month. New Quarter.

Is it new month new goals or new month same goals for you?

Either way, both will work.

For me, it’s a New month with the same goals. I’m not ashamed about it. 🗓️
This year is all about consistency for me. Last year I hid even though I showed up on social media. (More on that later).
Each year I use January or Q1 as a ramp-up month/quarter. I also give myself a theme for the quarter.

This quarter’s theme is consistency.

My goals 📊for this quarter are:
📰Publish my biweekly LinkedIn newsletter (consistently)
🗓️Open up my calendar for corporate speaking clients
👩‍🍳Get back to planning meals and meal prepping (for family and personal health goals)
🎥Host workshop twice this quarter
🎬Host biweekly Video Visibility with Alicia Live Show on LinkedIn (miss chatting with you all)

Here are just a few of the goals that I have planned.

With these goals, there has to be a plan in place. The plan requires a strategy; I have to work on each to be consistent. Of course, this is easier said than done but Ima make sure it happens come hell or high water. I’ve got goals to meet and I’m not playing in 2024.

🎶Singing OH HAPPY DAY 🎶

Shout out to all of the Work From Home Parents out there because as of yesterday I can officially say for the next few months my house will be kid-free. Y’all are the real MVP’s!!

My son started his first day of preschool and I’m so excited I don’t know what to do with myself. He’s the last of the bunch.
This was a long time coming.

Transparency moment: The last year and a half have been the most challenging as an entrepreneur parent who works from home. Honestly, it’s been a struggle. 💯 

It’s been a few years since having a toddler/preschooler at home while growing a business and I had to adjust drastically because my other kids are much older. Routines had to adjust, services had to be put on hold and I had to reduce my workload.

Add in my sons therapies and diagnosis, some days I didn’t know if I was coming or going. I tried to do it all- serve clients, homeschool my son and do all of the other things adults and parents do. It was impossible 😩 

But, I remebered some sound advice I’ve heard over the years and have even said to my clients: Just because you can do something doesn’t mean that you should.

So my husband and I decided take that advice  and enroll him into our districts program. BEST decision ever! My son is thriving and I’ve got a piece of the control that I like to have back.

If you are in the thick of it struggling right now with the entrepreneur and parent juggle just know it gets. You might have to sacrifice or make adjustments but there is light 💡 at the end of tunnel.

🚫🔑 Don't Get Stuck in the "How-To" Trap! 🔑🚫

Hey, sis! 👋 Let's talk about building your personal brand and thought leadership. Here's the real tea ☕️: while "how-to" video content has its place, it ain't the be-all and end-all for leveling up your brand game and thought leadership. 

Here's why:

1️⃣ It's Not All About the "How" 🤔 Sure, sharing your expertise is important, but your brand is more than just a manual. It's about your story, your journey, and the unique perspective you bring to the table. Don't sleep on the power of sharing your experiences, challenges, client testimonials, and wins—it's what sets you apart in a sea of sameness.

2️⃣ Keep It Real, Keep It Fresh 🌟 Constantly churning out "how-to" content can make the creation process feel like a burden and burn out fast. Mix it up, sis! Share insights, opinions, trends—anything that keeps your audience engaged and returning for more. Authenticity is key, and your audience will vibe with the realness.

3️⃣ Stand Out in the Crowd 🌟👑 Building your brand is about carving out your lane, making impactful waves, and not blending in. Instead of following the crowd with generic "how-to" guides, make a point to be different. Create videos that share your bold ideas, challenge the status quo, and let your personality shine through. That's how you make a lasting impression.

How much of my content should be ‘how-to’ content? 

I suggest no more than 20% of your content be in the ‘how-to’. The other 80% can be videos in the categories above.
 
So, don't get caught up in the "how-to" hustle, friend. Your brand is so much more than that. It’s an extension of you that no one else can duplicate. Embrace your uniqueness, share your story, and watch your brand and visibility go to the next level! 🚀
