Eight years ago, Gartner acquired Evanta and since then, we have significantly grown our communities, expanded into international regions, and increased the ways we bring our communities together.

- Support California CHROs from enterprise organizations in creating invaluable communities that are peer-led and typically have four virtual or in-person gatherings each year per community. 

-Collaborate with content and marketing teams to create relevant and timely agendas based around members' key priorities as identified in annual surveys and in interviews. 

- Identify prospective community members and complete onboarding through the member journey. 

- Connect likeminded executives with each other to validate and share best practices or just receive a listening ear from a peer who understands. 

- Exceeded engagement goals by 146% in 2023 with our Southeast/DC communities and 108% in 2024 with our two California groups, earning a place in the inaugural community program manager recognition trip in 2023 as well as in 2024.

-In 2022, when our business model included collaborating with BDM teams to secure strategic partnerships, I was the top mobilizer in the CHRO brand, helping our sales partners to bring in $400,000 in revenue from solution providers in the HRIS, Coaching and Communications spaces.

Netop

Prospected for new business, booked demos, set up software trials with sales engineer, helped to onboard customers.

Networked at EdTech conferences (in-person and virtual) in the West Coast, Midwest.

Worked closely with business development reps and territory counterpart in Manila, as well as account management/renewals, technical, marketing and development teams.

Block Club Chicago NFP

Reported on real estate developments impacting the community, crime, small business openings and closings, cool events to check out and everything in between. 

Block Club was founded by former DNAinfo editors after DNAinfo's abrupt closure. During the 3-month gap between DNAinfo ending and Block Club launching, I pitched several original ideas to the Chicago Sun-Times. As a neighborhood reporter/producer, I covered thousands of stories in Wicker Park, Bucktown, Noble Square, Ukrainian Village and East Village, most of it original and not reported elsewhere. Topics included small business news, restaurants and bars, crime, community concerns (zoning, local politics), real estate developments, unique people, schools, events and so much more. The Pipeline

I started The Pipeline as a freelance e-newsletter to notify members of the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce of local happenings through a list of 180 emails. That list gradually grew to over 4,000 subscribers and evolved into a now defunct website, chicago-pipeline.com, which produced news for residents of Wicker Park , Bucktown and surrounding areas like Logan Square and West Town. 

Our mission was to share and spread as much local news as possible across a range of categories. About five other people joined me, contributing articles and designing ads. I became the publisher and using the sales skills I honed at other jobs, solicited advertising support to keep the news going.

In July 2011, we completed our first printed printed publication, an 84-page full color booklet featuring over 120 local advertisers. In December 2011, we published a holiday magazine edition, Celebrate!, featuring 154 local businesses in collaboration with OurUrbanTimes.com. Our final printed edition, the Summer Guide, was published on June 3, 2012, with 30,000 copies distributed and 118 small businesses participating in it.

Practiced consultative techniques to assist small to medium sized businesses with their online recruiting efforts. Maintained a large base of existing business, eventually with a sales support assistant, and cold called to attain new business. Ranked #6 out of 306 sales reps in 2005 in sales made and was 225% over quota.

As large phone companies, or "Ma Bells" deregulated, small, competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs)  sprouted up.  I conceived/coordinated conferences geared to telecommunication engineers that were interested in geeking out on the latest technologies, such as VoIP, which was more of a concept or pipe dream back in 2000.  I developed one conference every four to six weeks and cold called "C-Level" speakers to keynote and present.  It was cool to be part of an event from conception to completion.

 In October 2001, in direct response to Sept. 11 (and slashed travel budgets),  I was laid off and did a lot of freelance writing. From 2001 to 2003 I worked as a full-time copywriter for an industrial supply catalog and also produced annual reports (2001, 2002 and 2003) for Community Memorial Foundation in Hinsdale.

Facilitating 'by CHRO, for CHRO' peer-driven collaboration and connection in San Francisco and Southern California (previously Seattle, Washington, D.C., Atlanta 2021-2023).  

A Governing Body member said it best: "We are all in the sea in different ships- some yachts, kayaks, sailboats- but when we come together at a gathering, we dock at the harbor to learn from each other and are no longer alone at sea."
