My role as team leader at the Queenstown branch of VTNZ, sees me leading people, problem solving, dealing with conflict resolution and staffing issues.  This role involves working with a foot in both camps, as a leader/manager and a vehicle inspector.  Being able to switch roles on/off has been the biggest challenge and one that I feel I have handled well.

I started work for VTNZ in palmerston north as a vehicle inspector, authorised to issue warrents of fitness, here I also became the central region health and safety rep before taking the position of supervisor in queenstown.

Completed my apprenticeship here, and went on to being the lead mechanic.  Here I also had my first introduction to management, running the business while the owners were away.  This involved a wide range of operations, from office admin, staffing, money, emergency call outs and the day to day running of the business.
