​As we say, "Once a Miss Florida, always a Miss Florida." We affectionately refer to each other as Forevers since we take the responsibility of representing this organization seriously and consider it to be a lifelong commitment. This prestigious honor is one that each of us are eternally grateful for, and as a result, we decided to ensure that there would always be additional support for each of the young women serving in this role. 

Our mission is provide exceptional scholastic opportunities to the young ladies participating in the Miss Florida program.

It’s been an amazing experience to be a part of this healthcare start-up from the beginning. Working alongside Drs. Eisenberg and Gold has been an honor and I am so grateful to get to do what I do every day. I was employee #2 back in 2013 (we now have ~ 1,000 team members) and was focused on opening The Recovery Village in Umatilla, the first treatment center we opened. We saw a huge need to expand so two years later we opened three more centers, including one for adolescents struggling with addiction. We’ve continued to scale ever since and now have 8 centers with many more to come. I adore my team and the fact that ARS is committed to the ongoing development of its team members, allowing us the chance to grow and learn and become better versions of ourselves daily. It’s a very special company and the fact that our mission centers around saving lives is incredibly fulfilling.

Helping Other People Eat

I founded Helping Other People Eat in 2001 after my own battle with bulimia and anorexia. There was a huge need for support resources in Florida and I wanted to do everything I could to not only prevent people from going through what I did, but also provide resources, direction and comfort to those that were struggling. We’ve been able to do amazing work thanks to the generosity and support of our community. Since 2001, we’ve personally spoken to over 100,000 individuals and have been featured on both national and local television shows and in print media across the country. Through our various awareness campaigns, volunteers have collected over 25,000 pair of jeans and donated them to people in need across the state of Florida while encouraging others to “be comfortable in their genes.” In 2010, HOPE launched the Get R.E.A.L. Program, encouraging everyone to set “Realistic Expectations and Attitudes for Life.” This program was delivered free of charge to over 7,000 schools, legislative offices and community health organizations in the state of Florida. In 2012, Volume 2 was distributed to every college and university in the country. In 2013, we collaborated with Blue Horizon Eating Disorder Services to create Eating Disorder Current Concepts, a program that was available online and through a free mobile app available on iTunes and GooglePlay. We’ve used our voices and passion as we’ve lobbied both in Tallahassee and Washington D.C. for appropriate funding and support of ED related legislation. We’ve continued to offer scholarship assistance to those struggling, and, in 2017, we partnered with the Alliance for Eating Disorders Awareness and EDNCF to create free clinician-led support groups in Orlando. The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders. We campaign for prevention, improved access to quality treatment, and increased research funding to better understand and treat eating disorders. We work with partners and volunteers to develop programs and tools to help everyone who seeks assistance.

Since 1999, our national toll-free helpline has assisted families, friends and individuals find appropriate treatment. NEDA is proud that our website serves as an entry point for people around the globe to find information on eating disorders. We serve as an important and welcome first stop for those searching for resources.

Allison Walsh, JD, is a seasoned executive, philanthropist, speaker, professional coach, and consultant, and Miss Florida 2006. A two-time CEO for national coaching firms and certified positive psychology coach, Allison has over 15 years of organizational leadership, mentorship, and coaching experience, and has shared her story with over 100,000 live audience members. She served as Vice President of Business Development and Branding for Advanced Recovery Systems, a national provider and industry leader in behavioral healthcare. In addition to managing their national business development team since its inception in 2013, she was instrumental in the development of their mental wellness app, Nobu. She recently joined Charlie Health as Vice President of Clinical Outreach and is hyper-focused on increasing access for adolescents and young adults in need of mental health treatment. As host of the She Believed She Could podcast and the creator of impactful coaching programs, Allison focuses on helping women develop confidence and leverage their personal brands personally and professionally to scale their businesses, careers, and influence while making an impact.
