Hi, I’m Althea. Nice to meet you. I am a shy, proactive, forward-thinking, unique individual who loves learning new things, reading, traveling, and experiencing new things- cultures, food, ideas, and life experiences, to name a few. I always put my best foot forward in everything that I do. I am passionate and enthusiastic about helping those around me to improve. I value hard work, and making a meaningful effort. I am an experienced registered nurse with 9 years of clinical experience with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital and healthcare industry as well as the nursing education field. I am skilled and competent in my nursing skills, nursing education for 4 years now, communication, leadership, patient advocacy, medical-surgical and icu nursing, and wound care specialty. I am a strong healthcare services professional, graduated from the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI), St. Thomas campus. I also have a certification from the American Board of Wound Management as a Certified Wound Specialist. Additionally, I am a clinical instructor at the UVI School of Nursing, as a way to give back to the institution and the community that helped me on my journey to becoming a nurse and future general surgeon. I am passionate about all that I do and enjoy it immensely. I look forward to growing on all capacities of life, and I look forward to improving who I am at all times. Most importantly, I am grateful to God to including everyone in my life who had made an impact to help me get to this stage in my life, whether the interaction was positive or negative. These interactions, in their own ways, impacted and influenced me to the path that I am currently on.
