Picture this: A map once dotted with vibrant points across the West U.S. and Canada, each one representing a team member I had the pleasure of leading. We were more than just a team; we were like a supergroup – the Avengers of the business world, if you will. Our secret weapon? Trust, respect, and not to forget, a good dose of humor.

Leading a $35MM business? Done. Smashing a record revenue year? Achieved. But the real trophy? Zero turnover. That was teamwork at its best.

At Johnson Controls, I wore the sales leadership hat with flair. I was all about whipping up strategies that sizzled and ensuring everyone knew the recipe for our success. It wasn’t just about hitting targets; it was about creating an atmosphere where everyone was pumped to bring their best.

Building relationships was my forte – from casual chats with frontline folks to deep strategy discussions with executives. I turned those connections into winning collaborations.

And my role in the DEI chorus? I was one of the lead vocals in our channel. I ran workshops, sparked new ideas, and made sure every voice got its moment in the spotlight. We weren't just talking about diversity; we were embodying it.

Tech tools like Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite were essential in my toolkit. They helped me not only highlight our team's accomplishments but also strategically plan our next steps.

I led a team of thirteen across Arizona and Utah, where we hit an exhilarating $18M in new business growth, targeting $158M in sales for 2021. Steering these sales superheroes was an absolute thrill ride.

Our Blockbuster Year in Revenue Growth
2019/20? That was our showstopper - a revenue leap of 18% to $132M, all because we zeroed in on delivering top-notch customer experiences. This achievement scored me the "Area Sales Manager of the Year" title – a real feather in my cap.

Mastering Sales with a Dash of Insight
Data was our guiding light. Armed with sharp analytics, we soared high in sales, bagging the "Region of the Year" title in 2018/19. We waltzed through data-driven strategies like pros.

Empowering Leaders Through Learning
Leading wasn’t just my job; it was my calling. I developed learning materials and training systems, morphing managers into leaders. We didn’t just boost sales; we amplified people’s growth.

Expanding Our Territory and Market Presence
I grew our team from five to seven managers, fine-tuning our edge in the market. We didn’t just join the game; we redefined it.

My mantra? Transparency, effective training, and keeping the team on their toes. This approach clinched big deals and sculpted a high-performing squad.

Quality was my middle name. Regular customer visits and hands-on complaint resolution kept our relationships robust and satisfaction sky-high.

Area Sales Manager

• Got the nod to spearhead the new aftermarket parts position, thanks to my knack for sales and marketing.

• Teamed up with leadership to craft the job description, focus areas, and goals of this shiny new role.

• Took the reins of aftermarket parts sales and distribution, making waves across 13 locations in Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, and Texas.

• Turbocharged our parts and accessories sales, boosting revenue from 20% to a whopping 22% year over year.

• Revved up outside vendor channel sales by 22% in 2017. How? By rallying internal teams and dealers with training and promotions that really popped.

• Stepped in as the go-to consultant for the sales team. I was all about training, quality checks, and pushing in-store and direct-from-factory bulk sales. Meshed our inside sales teams with dealer networks for marketing antics that sent our sales soaring. I had a nose for sniffing out just the right dealers and contractors.

• Kept a hawk-eye on our P&L statements, nudging our gross margin up by 2-3% annually. Dived into data to back our department budget and forecasting like a pro.

• Juggled a whopping 40,000 products. I was the maestro of vendor relations, striking deals with international vendors after meticulous product and supplier research. Convinced management with well-crafted business cases for each account.

• Made sure our inventory was spot on – the right stuff, in the right amounts, always. Managed returns, customer support, and tackled product hiccups, while giving the boot to products that just didn’t cut it.

• Led a cool project to design store layouts and product placement, bringing a consistent vibe across all 13 branches.

• Drove B2B sales and direct marketing strategies. Cross-selling, upselling, sales support, and marketing management for parts and accessories were my playground.

Regional Parts Manager

• Led the daily hustle and bustle of a branch, charming $3M in annual revenue and consistently hitting our sales targets.

• Got a well-deserved promotion in May 2014 to captain a larger ship, soaring to $6M in annual revenue. Why? For my ace skills in customer acquisition, upselling, cross-selling, and keeping customers happy and loyal.

• Snagged the “Branch Manager - Rising Star” award in 2012 and bagged another for Outstanding Customer Service in 2013 – talk about a winning streak!

• Mastered the art of branch budgeting and P&L administration. I was the go-to person for crafting reports and spilling the beans during our weekly forecast calls.

• Became the mentor-in-chief for branch employees, guiding them through sales and leadership training and making sure our daily operations ran smoother than a well-oiled machine.

• Kept errors and inefficiencies at bay by ensuring everything was compliant and on-point, from customer transactions to cash handling and balancing acts.

• Championed an excellent customer experience, jumping in to assist the team with sales strategies, product knowledge, and solving any customer curveballs.

• Organized customer appreciation days, special promos, and vendor events that made waves, always keeping senior management in the loop.

• Dreamed up and rolled out sales action plans that weren't just plans – they were blueprints for smashing our sales, performance, and facility goals.

• Kept our inventory game strong by forecasting like a prophet and maintaining a hawk-eye on inventory through cycle counting and strategic management.

• Scored top marks in audits across 200+ locations for sticking to the rules – from federal and state laws to SOX and ISO guidelines.

• My success paved the way for a shiny new leadership role focused on parts vendor management, forecasting, sales, and cooking up new business growth strategies.
