Intellectual Property snuck into my chemical engineering career and today it is my preoccupation. I started in a small business, Nomadics, Inc., part-time while in college and stayed with the company through its many phases. As Nomadics changed into ICx Nomadics, I transitioned from a Chemical Engineering and Lab Safety focus to maintaining the company's IP and Immigration matters; working as a liaison between the inventors and the attorneys, cutting costs and time anywhere I could. After passing the Patent Bar in July of 2012, my career at FLIR Systems broadened and soon encompassed assisting inventors, supporting the Inteum Inventor Portal and IP website, managing outside counsel, performing clearance searches, portfolio evaluation, and litigation support, as well as assisting with the IP budget creation and invoice approvals while maintaining our patent/design/domain/trademark tracking program, Inteum. Today I am working local again, building Stillwater, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University as the engineering & hard science Licensing Associate at OSU's Cowboy Innovations. We are building, engaging, and innovating like never before. Orange is the answer.
