My career began teaching high school English before I moved to Chicago to work at McDonald's Corporation in their training, learning, and development department where I designed a worldwide restaurant manager curriculum. While I loved my job and learned so much, I realized I missed teaching. So, I returned to education as a middle school language arts teacher at an independent private school. When I had children, I transitioned my role to Curriculum Director. I revamped the entire scope and sequence for their PK to 8 curricula, facilitated the reaccreditation process, and provided ongoing administrative support. When I left my Curriculum Director role, I took time off to raise my children. When all three were in school full-time, I reevaluated my career and priorities. I knew I needed flexibility, intellectual stimulation, and interaction with others outside of my family. A former English teacher, I focused on my skills in communication to reinvent myself as a freelance writer. I couldn't be happier professionally and personally. Outside of work, I love being with family and friends. I love to read, play tennis, work out, and travel. I live in Wilmette, IL, with my husband and three children.
