I believe that with the right support, opportunities, mentoring and sponsorship, that everyone has the ability to reach their potential. My love of Maths and a dabbling in PCs in my youth, led me to being one of the few girls on a Maths and Computing degree. Who would have though that my first student job, as a door greeter in my local Warner bros store & my love of problem solving could have led me to an exciting long career, working with some of the biggest companies in the world. I have a passion for putting the customer first, bringing the IT solutions needed to enable organisations to meet their business strategic objectives. I take an agile approach to delivery, combining methodologies where appropriate (for example agile and waterfall project management) and ensuring we have the right input to the solutions – whether that’s leading a team, ensuring inclusive design, to ensuring the team complements each others skills. Having lived around the world, my desire to surround myself with interesting people spanning many cultures can be fulfilled in a career in IT – I encourage others to consider the vast an wonderful opportunities in STEM careers by supporting school STEM pathways as well as through my blog www.thecareermum.co.uk and my facebook Global community, created to connect and inspire others.
