I made it.
Today I'm turning 40, I'm alive and kicking. 🪩
What a weird celebration, right?

A week ago, I think I would have said something different based on all the achievements of the last 10y and because I believe there is so much to celebrate after being 40y alive and having said no to a very little amount of things in life 😅

But this weekend, I had the great idea to gather all the people I love in one place. Some have been my friends for over 35y others for 3y. And this joyous gathering made me realise how far I’ve come. Thanks to every one of them, I made it.

They all supported me in my ups and downs, and seeing them all together made me soooo grateful!

The last 10y have been brutal, but they have been my rock.
It’s not like the first 30y have been a walk in the park either… seriously, growing up with a dysfunctional white trash family is really not only getting dealt a bad hand to start with, it’s like the whole book of rules of life is completely tweaked.

So yeah, the last ten years I’ve built a business, I worked with amazing clients, I made money, I created fabulous things from scratch, I really had fun becoming the businesswoman I always wanted to be but the behind the scenes has been brutal.
Traumatic amnesia, C-PTSD, therapy, addiction, meds, a whole bunch of alternative therapies, lawyers, justice… brutal.

To say my life has been riddled with contradictions is quite the understatement.

I’m not particularly enjoying sharing this part of my life as it tends to bring some head tilt with a pity look, which you can imagine are not helpful.
I mean… aren’t the pink and glitters a good clue for the mood?

That’s why I’m not making a whole fuss about this. 
Very few people understand what it really means.
And I wish you keep living that way!

What is helpful is to stand for something.
What is helpful is you keeping an open mind and a sharp curiosity because in this world anything is possible. Really anything.
What is helpful is you investing in yourself to grow as a person who wants to contribute to something.

The last 10y taught me determination, broadened my vision of life in terms of dark and light, developed my radar for assessing people, made me grateful, taught me to deal with anger, brought unexpected joy, made me a businesswoman, taught me things I didn’t know I needed but are SO necessary, brought the reality of my body to my awareness, made me completely and utterly FREE!

I mean, if I could make it alive till now, I’m not afraid of much anymore.

So, I’m no fool, I know there are still a LOT of challenges coming my way, but there is something in me that knows I’ll always be bigger than my problems and this belief is just very galvanising.

That’s what I hope for you.
Believe you can achieve anything, navigating life as a smart and resourceful badass.

Ever done a mind flip and watched the world flip out? 🤯
What if I told you there's one thing, one superpower, that screams "I'm growing!" but also has the magical ability to drive everyone around you up the wall? 

You guessed it – it’s the art of changing your mind.

Let’s get real for a sec. 
The more we soak up info, the more we question the world around us, right? And with new questions come new perspectives. It’s like the universe is throwing us curveballs just to see how we swing. 

So naturally, our thoughts evolve, our opinions shift, and bam – we change our minds. Sounds like a no-brainer (pun intended).

But oh, the drama that follows! 
Suddenly, you're seen as wishy-washy, or worse, as someone who can’t make up their mind. Some might even think you've admitted defeat. 

Come on, people! Since when did getting smarter and making more informed choices become a bad thing?

Here’s the thing: every day is a fresh start. 

A chance to make new choices based on the latest and greatest info we’ve got. It’s not about being inconsistent; it’s about being smart. Flexibility and the ability to adapt? Those are badges of honor in my book.

I can't help but laugh when I hear that changing your mind shows a lack of reliability. Seriously? 
If anything, it proves you're brave enough to question the status quo and seek out new truths. That's the opposite of the dreaded “we’ve always done it this way” mentality – a phrase that should send anyone running for the hills by now.

So, why do some people act like changing your mind is the ultimate no-no? 

Here’s the scoop from what I’ve seen:
🤯 Share the Brainwaves: Your thought process isn’t on display for all to see (unfortunately). Open up, share the journey of your evolving opinions. It's like a group project where everyone’s input leads to something awesome. People dig being part of the story.

🤯 You Do You: Remember, you're the captain of your ship. You don’t owe anyone a detailed map of your thought process. Be considerate of how your decisions affect others, sure, but at the end of the day, your mind is yours to change.

🤯 It’s Never Too Late: Thinking you’re stuck with a decision forever is like saying you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Spoiler alert: you totally can. Every day is a chance to learn something new and shift your perspective.

So, when’s the last time you did a 180 on something? 
If you’re anything like me, probably just this morning. 😂

Navigating the Confidence Trap: Why Your Doubts Matter!

Ever noticed how some folks, brimming with confidence but not much else, seem to just glide through life's challenges? Yeah, me too. 

And it got me thinking—since when did having doubts become such a bad thing?

Here’s the deal: In a world obsessed with the appearance of competence, we’ve somehow started mistaking sheer confidence for actual skill. 
And, oh boy, has that led us down a weird path. 

We’re now at a point where someone can be completely clueless but if they’ve got enough confidence? 
They almost look competent. 
Almost.

Let me break it down why doubts—yes, those annoying questions that keep us up at night—are actually gold.

Confidence isn’t just something you wake up with; it’s built, action by action. But here’s the kicker: every action, every decision, comes with its own set of doubts. And that’s perfectly okay. 
In fact, it’s more than okay—it’s necessary.

These doubts, these moments of questioning, are not signs of weakness. They’re signs of life, proof that you’re thinking, engaging, and yes, growing.

Think of your life as this grand experiment. You’re the mad scientist, and every action you take is a test. Doubts? Those are just your hypotheses questioning the results, pushing you to understand more, do better.

But here’s where it gets twisted. Some folks either can’t handle their doubts or have been so cushioned from real feedback that they’ve never had to. 

They float through life on a cloud of unearned confidence, never really developing competence. 

Why? Because real skill comes from wrestling with those doubts, from facing down the questions and coming out the other side more aware, more skilled.

So, when you see someone with that unwavering confidence, ask yourself: is it backed by real, hard-earned competence? Or is it just a shiny cover for a whole lot of nothing?

Let’s not get fooled by the confidence charade. It’s time to bring doubts back into the spotlight, not as villains, but as the heroes they truly are. 
Because at the end of the day, you can be confident and mediocre.

But competence? That’s where the real magic happens. Ever mistook a confident facade for real smarts, or had doubts that pushed you to the top?

Empathy is overrated.


What we really need is compassion.

Whether we’re working on a project, building a business or just showing up as a human being in life.

Empathy is too much about who we can already relate to. The people we find it easy to connect with, and to understand. The ones where it’s easy for us to imagine walking a mile in their shoes.

So then when we’re trying to create experiences or show up for people who are outside of that comfortable bracket… You just end up talking about something you don’t really understand. And it shows!

Compassion is a more curious approach.

Compassion is a genuine willingness to help, and the patience to try and understand something that’s completely unfamiliar to you.

Curiosity and compassion are my keys for life. These are the attributes I believe we need to nurture to build truly great customer experience projects.

This is why my coaching is focused on helping you build a business, a career where your compassion is at the center. Where there’s enough space for you to show up as the compassionate leader you truly are, so you can bring all of that authenticity and openness to your work.

We are so bad at visualising the future, which means we don’t take the smartest actions we could in the present, or even work as hard as we would if we could imagine our success in our mind’s eye.
