The Bio Inspired System Design Laboratory at Amirkabir University of Technology is a facility for graduate and undergraduate robotics, mechatronics and automation research and education with an emphasis on studying bio inspired robots and novel mechanisms strategies.

 Our research interests are in the area of Robot Locomotion & Manipulation, Soft Actuators, Platform Design, Kinematics and Mechanisms, and Autonomous Systems. The Bio Inspired System Design Lab participated with great success in previous RoboCup and FIRA RoboWorld Cup competitions.

Bio Inspired System Design Lab is one of the active research groups which are working on Human Like robots, Gait analysis, Human robot interactions, Rehabilitation robotics, Haptics in virtual reality and Teleoperation in the Biomedical Engineering Department of Amirkabir University of Technology.

Amirmahdi Zarif, Research Assistant, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. Amirmahdi Zarif's research interests include Robotics and Industrial Engineering. In Particular, his research focuses on Autonomous Vehicles, Autonomous Robots and the Development of Engineering Simulators. Amirmahdi Zarif is currently the Chairman of the Autonomous Cars league of the Federation of International Robot-Sports Association (FIRA).
