I am a professional with a deep-rooted passion for military service, education, and community engagement. I am an Assistant Professor and a Marine Officer Instructor at the University of Idaho and Washington State University. My experience, including serving as an Intelligence Officer, an Enlisted Reconnaissance Marine, and an Assistant Professor, has equipped me with leadership skills, a global perspective, and a deep appreciation of the importance of developing the next generation of well-educated global citizens. Having led and mentored diverse teams in various environments, I am adept at creating supportive environments, encouraging growth and development, and achieving shared objectives. My expertise extends to academia, where I've trained and guided 250 university students and officer candidates on military leadership theory and the history of warfare. In the face of the pandemic, I quickly adapted and successfully initiated online learning using advanced platforms like Blackboard Learn and Canvas. Beyond my professional responsibilities, I have always been committed to giving back to the community. I have been serving as an Organizational Liaison/Coordinator for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and a volunteer advisor for the Vandal Mentor Network at the University of Idaho, focusing on assisting military-affiliated undergraduate and graduate students. Also, as a member of the American Legion Dudley Loomis Post No. 6, I take pride in honoring fellow veterans' sacrifices and enhancing our military families' lives. I am pursuing an M.S. in Adult, Organizational Learning and Leadership, aiming to augment my knowledge and skills further. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in History, Philosophy and a minor in Religious Studies from the University of Idaho, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude and received the W.K. Hackmann Outstanding Senior Award and the Marine Corps Association and Foundation Honor Graduate. I bring a unique blend of operational experience, academic insights, and a passionate commitment to service.
