Hello, I'm Amit! I see disease therapeutics from the eye 👁️ of a Pharmacologist, be it small molecules, phytochemicals, targeted therapeutics or bugs as precision medicine! I am a Molecular Pharmacologist with >10 years of research experience in performing in vitro and in vivo drug discovery projects (20) in models of cancer, inflammation and fibrosis at reputed institutes in four countries (India, Brazil, Germany and Netherlands). I have published the outcomes of these projects in high impact specialized journals of the field including Trends in Pharmacological Sciences (TIPS), Expert Opinion on Therapeutic Targets, Nano Today, Nanomedicine: Nanotechnology, Biology & Medicine, Pharmacological Research and others. Currently, I am studying the molecular mechanisms of chronic inflammation driven diseases of the liver. I am exploring the pathological role of lipoxygenase enzyme in the progression of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and screening a library of small molecule inhibitors. During my PhD, I studied the role of chronic inflammation and oxidative stress in the pathophysiology of pancreatitis and used pharmacological tools for the manipulation. I have expertise in state-of-the-art tools of of molecular biology. Highly skilled in qPCR, cell culture, animal models, ELISA, immunoblotting, immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy and others. Experienced in writing of successful research proposals, research and review manuscripts, and dossier for clinical studies.
