I have recently started working on a new project to use AI and facial recognition to do early detection of Scleroderma. I was diagnosed with Scleroderma in June 2021. Scleroderma is an autoimmune disease in which your body produces extra collagen. You can see the effects of the extra collagen in people's faces and hands. We are building an AI system that uses pictures of people's faces and hands to be able to do early detection of Scleroderma. You can see more at http://scleroderma.ai. I am a serial entrepreneur with expertise in mobile, BI, OLAP, data access, data analytics, cloud, and Big Data. Over 20 years, we have built 3 very successful companies both with very positive exits for all of our shareholders. We have built great teams who have built great products as we focused on making our customers and partners very successful. We have sold software to great companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, SAP, and Teradata which they in turn have put their own names on and sold to their customers. One of the best parts of building our companies was growing the people who made the companies what they were. During my years, we celebrated many successes and I am pleased to see that people who worked with me have gone on to great careers around the world. Along the way of building great companies, we have also invested back in our community. We have created over 1500 person years of high paying employment in Vancouver, Canada and also invested heavily in the local universities to educate our leaders of tomorrow. We have paid special attention to women in technology and have endowed various scholarships at SFU, UBC, and UVIC. We have also supported the World Partnership Walk, the Aga Khan Foundation Canada, the Aga Khan University, the University of Central Asia, and the Aga Khan Museum. Giving back to the world in terms of supporting developing countries as well as supporting educational institutions is something that shows Canada cares about the world we all live in. Additionally, supporting the first museum dedicated solely to Islamic Art in North America helps us all understand different cultures and the value of diversity.
