While teaching 5th grade at Alief ISD in the late 90's, I felt the call to "come home" and raise/educate our seven children. Now in my 24th year as a homeschool educator, I see the fruits of this call as our four older children make their way into the world. Homeschooling is hands-down the best decision I've ever made, outside being mom to the greatest gifts I've ever received. I have a variety of passions in addition to homeschooling our children. Writing is one of them. In addition, I like to read voraciously about nutrition, diets, alternative cancer therapies, the Catholic faith, and alternative investments, especially those involving real estate. My interest in real estate investing began when I read Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki many years ago. The book cemented my appreciation for small businesses in general and alternative passive investments in particular. One of several goals for 2025 is to continue pursuing worthwhile opportunities in commercial real estate and other passive assets.
