I spent years overworking, driven to deliver the 'perfect' product so healthcare professionals could deliver the gold standard of patient care to someone who may one day be my mother, best friend or colleague. I know what it is like to be the last one in the office for nights on end. I've experienced being so tired I didn't know if I can drive myself safely home. I've missed more family events, friends celebrations and funerals than I care to admit. And I know what it is like to hit the wall and realise that overworking just isn't working anymore.
