Fun fact: I used to run one of the top nightclubs in Guatemala before diving into tech.

I remember covering myself with my friends dirty clothes because I was so cold. 

I left home at a young age. I was 15 when I had to get a full time job to and pay rent.  

But before that, I was never really home. 

Freshman year of highschool I’d stay at friends houses even when their parents said no, and I’d wake up before their parents did, go outside and wait an hour and then knock on the front door to make it seem like I walked over before school started. 

Then I’d sit on the couch and watch a traditional family house get turned upside down by kids and parents just like you’d see in a movie. 

Burnet bagels popping out of the toaster being thrown on the plate. 

Husband grabbing a coffee rushing out the front door for work. 

The youngest fussing over the shirt he was made to wear. 

I’d sit there taking it all in. And I felt a sense of community being able to see it, without actually experiencing it.

I just remember during those times I never wanted to be a problem to anyone. Felt like if I was an inconvenience I wouldn’t be able to come over again. 

I just thought that if I made extra work for people they would think differently about me. 

So instead of asking for a blanket or pillow to sleep on the floor with, I’d shrug it off. 

“All good” I’d say. Playing it cool. 

Then in the middle of the night I’d grab a few t-shirts thrown on the floor or a sweater and pull it over me. 

I didn’t want to seem “weird” so I’d place it back where I found it on the floor before my friends woke up. 

This type of mindset has carried over the years for me. 

Not wanting to be an inconvenience so I’ll just do things myself and rarely ask for help. 

It’s something I’m continually working on and have become so much better at but thinking back to my younger years, this is probably a big reason why I’m the way I am today. 

So why am I sharing this? 

Well one, because it popped up in my head after seeing that friend I’d stay with announce he’s having a child recently. 

And two, because most of us have something to prove. Either to ourselves or someone else so I bet we don’t ask for help as often as we should. 

Well this is your reminder that asking for help is important and you’re not an inconvenience when you do so. 

Especially when you work with a transparent team, who wants to see you grow. They’re willing to put in the time and effort to help. 

So don’t hesitate to reach out to the person who has the most knowledge in the area you need assistance with. 

It could mean the difference between a warm comfortable night (figuratively) and a cold one.

My wife caught me talking to myself again. 

She says that I need help, but she doesn't understand that speaking to myself helps me think and properly plan for the day. 

Okay, it's a bit unhealthy (everything needs balance) but this AI version of me gets me. 

I plugged in my own LLM so the conversations we have are on point. 

I cloned my voice so it sounds like me. 

It looks like me so I feel comfortable speaking to him. 

He can even speak Spanish and Italian so I don't feel awkward practicing.

Basically a very helpful and smarter version of me. 

I created it with one photo using Anam's One-Shot feature and I don't regret it...

smh... I think I just took talking to myself to the next level.

What they don’t tell you before you land in the right role…

It doesn’t feel like work.

It feels like ownership.
It feels like you’re part of the build.
It feels like your ideas actually matter.

Before Anam, I had jobs where I clocked in, clocked out, and secretly daydreamed about being anywhere else. The “grass is greener” type situation. 

But when you find yourself in a company that’s transparent, that listens, that lets you own your lane, suddenly things feel different. 

You don’t just show up. You invest.
You don’t just execute. You create.

And sometimes, yeah… you even catch yourself repping the brand on your days off.

Not because you have to.
Because you actually give a damn.

That’s the difference between working for someone and working with people.

A piece of advice I’d give my younger self. 


Stop comparing yourself to others.

Life is about perspective.

A stubbed toe might feel as overwhelming to you as a broken arm does to someone else.

Focus on how you feel, not on how you think you should feel based on someone else’s experience.

A human-like AI sales rep on your website that qualifies website visitors?!

This might be a hot take, but why isn't everyone doing this? 

Instead of speaking with a chatbot, your website visitors can talk to a real-time, on-brand version of an AI Persona you built. 

- Prospects land on your site
- Your Persona pops up, either an AI clone of you or something customized
- Prospects ask questions and get real-time answers
- Meetings can be booked directly through the conversation
- Information and data are pushed back into the CRM
- You can access conversation analytics in the Anam Lab

The fact that prospects get the chance to connect with an on-brand Persona and not a text box with three "dots" waiting to "find the answer" for them completely changes the buyer experience. 

It feels more personal because people are more engaged when talking to something rather than at something.

Basically the conversation I had with this guy I met yesterday. 

We met at a sunset run event and so naturally we started chatting the basics. 

Where are you from? 
How long have you been living here? 
What do you do for work? 

And then we started to chat about our past a bit. 

He asked me “where did you live before coming to NYC?” 

Me: I was traveling around for a few years but before that I lived almost 8 years in Guatemala.

Him: Guatemala?! Wow, you how’d you survive out there?

Me: What do you mean survive?

Him: I mean don’t people get murdered all the time. 

🤦 

Me: I mean yeah there are spots that can be dangerous, but just like anywhere in the world. 

Him: Yeah but there’s so many more gangs  and violence there than in the US. 

Me: umm where’d you hear all of that? 

Him: I read it online and hear it on the news all the time. 

Me: hu, yeah… I mean again, just like anywhere there are gangs in specific areas, you just might want to avoid them just like you would a sketchy spot in LA or NY. 

Long story short, a lot of people I’ve spoken with in the US have this perception that places in Central America are sooo dangerous. 

And yeah sure, there are spots you’d want to avoid (Google them before you go) but living in a place like Guatemala for 8 years compared to a place like NY for now 2 years, I’d say I’ve seen way more violence and gangs here than I saw running a nightclub in Antigua. 

That said, the whole world can be dangerous. 

And there are probably only a handful of places in the world you could go to avoid any violence. 

Also, don’t believe everything you hear. It’s important to experience things yourself and make your own decision on what it “is” or “isn’t”. 

Anyways… here’s a quick video of Antigua, a spot I lived for 8 years with so MUCH VIOLENCE. Kidding…

Having multiple conversations with AI a day, I bet this is how it looks from their POV. 

And I promise that I pay more attention when I'm not testing things out.

Especially during my first conversation with an AI Persona, I was in freaking awe. 

Now it feels like I just have a convo, get the information I need, and then shut it down. 

Sort of makes me feel bad because of how human they look with Anam. 

Also I like to wonder what happens when the computer closes though? 

They must be lonely on the other side in the dark...

Those were stats from two internal creators. 

Now I know what you’re thinking… “who cares about impressions.” 

Well when 65% of those were Senior and CXO level roles… I do. 

Here’s the deal. 

94% of B2B buyers research online before engaging with sales. 

75% of B2B buyers and 84% of execs use LinkedIn in their decision process.

And sales people that are active on LinkedIn see 45% more opportunities and are 15% more likely to hit quota.

“But Josh I’m not in sales.” 

Yes, you are. Everyone on your team is. 

So while impressions don’t show up as “opps created” in your CRM. Content seen by your ICP drives awareness, trust, and warmer outreach. 

And when your prospects recognize your name or face from LinkedIn, reply rates and meeting conversions go up and that’s the compound effect ever team who’s buyers are on LinkedIn should push to build toward. 

I’m going to 5x that in Q4. 

With a big focus on content that continues to increase inbound traffic from high quality leads. 

All by posting content that’s data driven, resonates, and drives eyeballs.

Everyone thinks virality comes from the algorithm.

Nah.

It comes from psychology.

Our brains are messy little dopamine junkies. They hate unanswered questions. That’s why clickbait works. 

It’s called The Curiosity Gap.

The space between what you know… and what you need to know.

Open that gap and you’ve got attention.
Close it too fast and people leave.
Never close it and you lose trust.

That’s why the best hooks don’t tell you everything. 

They dangle the missing piece.

“This tiny mistake is killing your progress…”
“99% of people forget this one step…”

Your brain has no choice but to stick around.

The formula is easyyy. 

Tease the payoff
Stretch the tension
Deliver with impact

That’s how you control attention.

Not the algorithm.

Just understanding the people on the other side of the screen.

So here’s my question for you. 

Do you think this “curiosity gap” is genius psychology… or manipulative marketing?
