In 2013, I founded the intelligent computer vision (iCV) research lab, thereby establishing the preeminent centre in the Baltic States dedicated to computer vision and applied machine learning. As the Chief Data Scientist at PwC, I am presently in charge of initiatives pertaining to Generative AI applications, Responsible AI, and the Metaverse and Analytics, showcasing my extensive knowledge of data science and AI technologies. By co-founding Estonia's first Responsible AI HRTech startup, iVCV, I have demonstrated my entrepreneurial spirit. My position as an early-stage angel investor signifies my dedication to fostering groundbreaking concepts in the field of technology. I possess extensive technical expertise in fields of computer vision, human-robot interaction, and applied NLP as well as 3D modelling, augmented and virtual reality, and most notably, Python, Keras, and TensorFlow programming. My adeptness in utilising the OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, and Google LLM APIs demonstrates my progressive mindset towards nascent AI technologies. I have led teams to success on numerous research and development projects on behalf of industry titans including eCommerce and Retail giants, SecTech, and FinTech companies. I am a distinguished member of the academic community, having served as the Chair of the IEEE Estonian section's Joint Societies Chapter and an IEEE Senior member. My scholarly impact is considerable, as evidenced by my more than 300 publications, which consist of conference papers, journal articles, books, and patents. I hold the position of associate editor at multiple esteemed journals and have served as the chief guest editor for special issues that centre on the analysis of human behaviour. I have guided ten doctoral and more than thirty MSc students in academia, thereby cultivating the next generation of scientists. Demonstrating my dedication to the progression of the AI discipline, I have presided over workshops at FG17, CVPR17, ICCV17, ECML19, FG20, and FG24, in addition to conferences including ICOSST, ICGIP, and SIU. I have been honoured with grants from esteemed organisations such as the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, the Estonian Research Council, and the European Union. In essence, my professional trajectory serves as evidence of my preeminent status in the fields of computer vision, machine learning, AI, and data science. Mentoring up-and-coming talent, fostering innovation, and making contributions to the progression of intelligent technology are all aspects of my life's work.
