I currently serve as the 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐳𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞, bringing over 10 years of experience in higher education and a passion for helping students and alumni thrive in their careers and lives. I use strategic thinking and leadership to integrate career development into the academic experience while fostering meaningful relationships with employers and community leaders. My goal is to equip individuals with the tools they need to brand themselves professionally with clarity. Prior to this role, I was the 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 at Azusa Pacific University, where I developed programs to enhance career readiness. My focus was also on connecting students with opportunities that aligned with their academic and career goals. Before transitioning to career services, I spent 8+ years in enrollment management, where I generated tens of millions of dollars in tuition revenue through student recruitment for various universities. My biggest motivation, however, was the positive impact I had on the lives of the students and families I served. I firmly believe in the transformative power of higher education and made it a priority to build relationships based on trust, respect, and open communication. Guiding students through one of the largest financial investments of their lives was truly an honor. 𝐍𝐨𝐰, 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐧 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐞: • My parents immigrated to the U.S. from Cuba and Colombia • I'm proud to be the first in my family to earn both a bachelor's and a master's degree • I'm up at 4:45 a.m. each morning to hit the gym • I try to relive my glory days as an athlete by playing in an adult softball rec league • Every weekend, my wife and I meal prep... but I'm guilty of having a sweet tooth • I love being a cat dad (yes, I have two of them) You'll also quickly learn that I'm fluent in sarcasm.
