Summary: 
Health Equity Alliance is a non-profit agency dedicated to serving Maine's most marginalized people - people living with HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ+ people and people who use drugs. 

A critical part of the organization's communications, fundraising and advocacy operations and is part of the Executive Staff. Directly responsible for the coordination of HEAL development activities, including all activities related to the organization’s annual fund and capital campaigns. Coordinates efforts to enhance the HEAL brand and image, as well as increasing awareness of the organization’s services and programs, mission and values and select causes. Responsible for managing and coordinating employees and volunteers contributing to the aforementioned efforts. Manages all public facing communications for the agency, including website development and maintenance, social media management, media relations and creation of collateral materials. 

Manages and directs all fundraising activities, including individual donor appeals, major gift solicitations, grant writing and review, special events creation and management, sponsorships and donor stewardship.

Temporary/Contract position- Coordinate and assist in the implementation of an annual marketing and communications plan, with responsibilities to organize and track monthly progress by establishing key reports and tracking analytics. Work in close alignment with the Marketing and Fund Development Director to develop and support an integrated marketing, communications, and public relations strategy to build relationships with key stakeholders and increase the visibility of QC’s brand and strategic priorities. Write and design annual report, news releases, blog posts, articles, newsletters, event collateral, brochures, presentations, and reports. Serve as a brand ambassador for QC’s mission and work closely with staff to assure consistency of overall messaging and targeting talking points for key audiences. Assist with coordinating and promoting face-to-face and virtual meetings, including QC’s Annual Conference, Lunch and Learn webinar series, and other events as needed. Regularly review and update QC website and work closely with staff across departments to ensure a consistent style/formatting, brand identity, and strategic messaging. Oversee updating and coordinating a marketing communications calendar, to include internal and external audiences. Responsible for establishing a social media calendar consistently writing and sharing content to appropriate channels. Help establish and maintain vendor relationships and serve as the point of contact on established projects to ensure project deadlines are met.

Marketing and Communications Manager

This encompasses written, oral, electronic, film, photographic, multi-media, website, social networking, and other communication mechanisms, and involves a high level of internal and external networking. Senior Communications and Outreach Specialist

Provide writing, editing, and layout and design for a variety of media, including news releases, magazine articles, printed materials, and web. Develop and manage marketing/communication plans. Develop relationships with local media, escort media while on site, and develop media pitches and story ideas. Write, edit, and layout weekly internal employee newsletter. Photograph events and day-to-day activities at the medical center. Layout and design materials for publicizing medical center programs. Co-lead pf Message Team (Patient First) devoted to developing messaging for employees. Arrange logistics, staffing, equipment, and data management for quarterly Employee Updates. Research, develop and write messages about bioterrorism topics and other public health threats; messages are used for fact sheets, Web pages, brochures, press releases, feature stories and training materials. Plan, develop and conduct risk communication training for regional and local health department staff, local public officials and first responders. Facilitate, arrange and coordinate risk communication training for upper management, partner agencies and organizations. Coordinate, facilitate and organize workgroups for training and messaging. Act as liaison with partner organizations and departments on a local and statewide basis. Offer technical assistance to communication professionals at local and regional health departments in the areas of messaging and risk communication. Monitor and assess local and regional health department contracts for meeting of risk communication goals. Assist in the preparation of various vehicles of public information and education, including videos, brochures, fact sheets and Web site information. Accredited as Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Crisis and Emergency Risk Communication trainer. Participate in response activities for Katrina and other disasters. Produced video that was awarded a “Best in Texas” Silver Spur Award from the Texas Public Relations Association.
