2014 – 2018 Research Manager for the group Learning- and decision support. Established the group and grew it to 10 researchers. Our focus was on innovation and applied research on Technology Enhanced Learning, Shop Floor Intelligence and Digitally enhanced Work. 

2010 – 2013 Senior Researcher, Dpt. of Technology Management. Responsible for strategic development of customer relationships and projects and for helping colleagues to develop. Created and led large projects with existing and new customers in multiple industries. Recruited Data Analytics talent.

2007 – 2010 Researcher at Dpt. of Productivity and Project management. Responsibility for developing new projects in collaboration with customers. Developed the scientific and market foundation for establishing the new group Learning- and decision support in 2014.

Research Manager

Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)

Worked at the Department of Computer Science. Developed the large research project Co-Operation Support Through Transparency and was part of the project management group. Co-supervisor of three PhD candidates and a number of master students. Led pilots of new collaborative technologies in hospitals.

Post.doc

Wrote my PhD dissertation at the Institute of production and quality engineering. My project was funded by the Operating Room of the Future project at St. Olavs Hospital. I worked extensively with the Surgical department of that hospital and clinicians and researchers at The Operating Room of the Future at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, USA. The title of my thesis was: Process Analysis and Monitoring in Complex Perioperative Environments: Health Operations Management.

PHD Student

Teaching Research Assistant

Massachusetts General Hospital

As part of my PhD, I worked as a Research Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital, Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care, Boston, USA. I participated in several studies and produced a number of publications. One of these studies became foundational to much of my later work: We tested an RFID-based indoor tracking technology for tracking patient flow and workflow. This work spurred my interest for using near real-time data to provide situation awareness and developing new IT solutions to support work in complex environments.

Research Fellow

I think more technology should be designed to enhance people-positive work and organizations. Organizations grow when people grow. After years of conducting and leading research on this topic, I founded VOXT to make more of these ideas reality.
