A friend once told me, “You cannot build a bridge to nowhere.” A saying that still motivates me to this day. And now that I’ve built this bridge to nowhere, I found myself now here ready to pursue a destination that I believe we all would be inspired by. It is no secret that Extended Reality(XR) has been securing its place as a valid sector to invest in. Use cases consistently pop up about how XR is influencing telemedicine, workplace training, international tourism, online shopping, social media, and of course electronic sports to name a few. With more use cases becoming more apparent with XR, it has only reinforced XR device manufacturers, developers, and enthusiasts to ensure that the XR sector materializes and stabilizes (including the metaverse). Recently I’ve taken the Rendering Optimization Master Class at XR Bootcamp, where I was able to learn some fine skills by The Game Dev Guru, Ruben Torres. The reason I took the class is to have the skillset to bring experiences into XR that people are already familiar with. With so many apps, websites, and games that has become a part of our lives, we would also crave these same experiences in XR. I also believe that no matter what people say about advertisements potentially overpopulating the immersive digital environment, it would only be just as familiar as the many ads that blast our senses this very day. We are craving that next interface. We are craving that next level of immersion in life. But we also craving the familiar. Let us bring what's familiar into XR and continue professing the engineering magnificence of the XR sector!
