Along with my two partners, in 2021 we established Sanyang Design, an Industrial Design & Innovation studio specialising in the Medical, Healthcare, and Wellness sectors. 

With our offices strategically located in the free trade port of Sanya, Hainan, we are uniquely positioned to serve clients in China and Southeast Asia markets. Backed by our key alliance partnerships, we offer comprehensive design solutions to a wide range of companies, from medical device startups to state-supported manufacturers and multinational corporations.

Industrial Design Consultant

WILDDESIGN is a German design agency with offices in Europe and Asia. With over 20 years experience in medical design and life sciences, WILDDESIGN also provides a 360-degree design service, supporting our clients all the way from research and strategy to design for manufacturing and intercultural branding for the market. We have proven expertise in product design, packaging design, marketing communications, naming and brand development. 
With a presence in China since 2006, we specialise in bridging global business gaps and are experts in adapting concepts to the Chinese market and developing a design that works both locally and globally. 

My current role includes time spent between;

Senior Industrial Designer & Design Manager

Adelaide Hills Distillery

As one of three co-founders, distillation has always been for the love of the process, industrialisation, and natural ingredients! I supported the new venture at the beginning by understanding the emerging craft spirit scene and introducing other founders to a mentor distiller in Friuli Italy, through a family connection.

I relinquished my shareholding, as I couldn't contribute appropriately given my relocation to China in 2014.

Co-Founder

I had stepped in at the design development stage on a number of industrial, medical and adult lifestyle products while working under the direction of the creative director and project leaders. Through these projects, I highlighted a number of Design For Manufacturing (DFM) issues and offered solutions while maintaining the design intent. I had also put in place a number of SolidWorks standardisation setups, across the office for better file management, documentation and ease of use among the staff.

Industrial Designer

Gliderol Garage Doors

I was initially contracted to update CAD models & engineering drawings, however I was giving the opportunity to design the new remote handset for the GLIDERMATIC GRD+, GTS and Optima. Also I supported on other projects, marketing, exhibitions and user manuals in development.

My services allowed me to further develop professional experience in areas such as; product development, product testing, procurement, manufacturing and component assembly, all while providing fresh ideas for future products in development.

R & D Contractor

Fossick Designs

A small design business I started while I was finishing my professional studies that provided SolidWorks modeling services to clients along with the development of small projects, including the ‘Fossick Chair & Bar stool’ exhibited at the  ”More to Design” (Adelaide 2011) show. I closed the business due to following professional opportunities abroad.

Lonsdale Automatic Engineering

A small family business that produced small machined and turned parts for clients.

My duties included;
• Calculate cycle time, costing and quote on new production parts.
• Source material for manufacture.
• Design and fabricate jigs for machining parts and assemblies.
• Performing fabrication, manufacturing, assembly and maintenance tasks.

Sam Sorgiovanni Designs

With a passion for the sea and marine design, I got an opportunity to gain some professional design experience with Sam Sorgiovanni team were I aided senior designers on their current Super Yacht projects.

My duties included;
• Creating SolidWorks models and renderings for client,
manufacturers and assisting the team with developing design details.

Work Experience

Juren Engineering

Family-run steel engineering workshop that completed fabrication projects and also repairs to civil construction and transport machinery.

• Trained as a Tradesman Assistant and aided workshop staff on projects.
• Called suppliers to source material for manufacture, calculate cutting lengths and material requirements.
• Operated power tools and heavy machinery.
• Forklift operator aswell as pick up and deliveries.
