I have just read the industry regulations before upgrading my body armour. I've gone from a V-twin to a V-four bike and the difference in acceleration and speed require better protection....or so I thought

The regulatory standards?
- C1 level body armour will transmit 18kN force from a 50 joule hit.
- C2 body armour is better, it will transmit only 9kN to your body.

Bones...the femur is our strongest bone and it breaks at only 4kN.
Huh...then why is it called body armour?

Regulations set like this ensure manufacturers have zero incentives to make better body armour,. This DOES NOT protect the consumer
