Mood Media

As Director of Mobile & New Product, I lead a team of engineers, product managers and business people who are re-defining Mood Media's role in retail technology. Since founding our team, we have developed next-generation technology products that enable our clients to more effectively communicate with their customers in and out of store. 

Today, our mobile technology, named "Presence" is deployed on over 500 million smartphones, through our partnership with Shazam, and our technology is powering next-generation advertising in movie theaters, shopping malls and performance venue's worldwide.

Director, Mobile & New Product

In 2011, Mood completed $350 million acquisition of Muzak, the foremost provider of in-store music and marketing services worldwide. I was tasked to create a digital strategy for this business prior to the acquisition and subsequently moved to Charlotte,NC where it was HQ'd to execute the strategy. From a product perspective, our goal was to increase customer experience with a clear line to reducing churn, increasing arpu and growing new subscribers.

Strategized, Developed & Launched first-of-its-kind account management portal (mymood.com), serving over 100,000 SMB clients, resulting in a 20% Arpu increase and nearly $1mm in savings for the enterprise. Launched the fastest-growing product in the company's history, called Klikt, which coincidentally was also the first customer loyalty app of its kind. 

Also learned that consumer's weren't ready to hand their phones to a store clerk, years later Starbucks would master this.

Sightline Innovation Inc

Advised the Founder and Executive team of Sightline Innovation. Sightline is a leader in the explosive Artificial Intelligence and Machine-Learning industry. Alongside CEO, I developed the companies business & commercialization strategy, which lead to signing their first major customer (Fortune 100 automotive company) and raising over $1mm in funding from one of Canada's most leading investors.

Brought on to re-invigorate CPG Lifestyle brand's digital business.  Developed new e-commerce platforms for multiple product lines, launched mobile products (apps) including first of its kind wellness app and re-built how we marketed and produced product for digital platforms (iTunes,Spotify,Pandora,etc). 

Under my  leadership, significantly increased revenues by transforming how the company approached digital. Important learning: just because your product sells well in retail, does't mean it will in digital, some products have to be re-imagined for how consumers search, seek and purchase online. Doing that can produce tremendous results!

Fluid Audio Networks

Employee #5 and first "business" hire at a Music Tech startup called Fluid Media Networks. Fluid operated American Idol's online destination, serving millions of users and thousands of aspiring musicians. I wore a number of hats but primarily ran business development and marketing. Partnered with leading brands and retailers and also took ownership of AudioLunchBox.com, the world's first DRM-free music site.
