As the Director of Business Applications at MEC, I was responsible for overseeing the operation, enhancement, and strategic management of core IT systems across the organization. 

My role focused on driving business system performance, ensuring seamless integration, and aligning technology initiatives with business objectives.

As an ERP Program Manager at MEC, I led the end-to-end implementation of ERP solutions and was responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of ERP systems within the organization. My role involved strategic planning, team coordination and the successful integration of enterprise systems across departments.

MEC is Canada’s go-to place for outdoor gear, know-how, and inspiration. MEC supports a wide range of activities including, camping, snowsports, watersports, cycling, climbing, hiking, running, and travel.

ERP Program Manager (Contract)

Vancity

As the Director of Application Services at Vancity, I was responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of the following application areas:

- Core banking
- Loan origination
- Business intelligence
- CRM
-Enterprise Change Management (Technical)

This entailed guiding a portfolio of strategic sustainment projects in these areas.  


Finally, I supported and directed five managers and several project teams, delivering work with an operational budget of approximately $12m per annum.

Director of Application Services

As the Director of Core Solutions at Vancity, I was accountable for the health and sustainment of the core systems we made use of. The following teams fell directly under my care:

- Core banking
- Loan origination
- CRM

I collaborated closely with the core banking team to deliver a successful T24 go-live, which included defining processes and procedures for sustainment. I also worked with business stakeholders and project teams to ensure that the T24 system stabilized in a timely manner.

Vancity is a credit union committed to a clean and fair world that serves more than 550,000 member-owners.

I project managed the program’s Architecture and Integration streams.  This included planning and execution for delivery of the Temenos Interface requirements, solution and design (~40 interfaces).  This required a high-level of cross team co-ordination to successfully implement (Architecture, Integration, Core Banking and Requirements teams).

At Teck Resources Limited, I acted as both a Project Manager and Business Analyst and was accountable for an ERP system upgrade proposal including software architecture prototypes to prove the viability of the end state solution. This involved travel to the Arctic Circle for collaboration with the Red Dog mine team.

Pacific Blue Cross

During my tenure at Pacific Blue Cross, I led various IT system implementation projects with a focus on the Individual Products line of business. I worked on a number of projects varying in size and complexity based on the needs of the organization.

Pacific Blue Cross is British Columbia’s only Health Benefits Society and British Columbia’s number one health benefits provider. As part of its mission to improve health and well-being for British Columbians, Pacific Blue Cross proactively supports charitable organizations across the province working to improve health outcomes.

BBC Outside Broadcast

As a Business Systems Manager at BBC Outside Broadcast, I was tasked with managing the custom development of a product that interfaced with SAP sales. In my role, I also managed the IT needs of the Outside Broadcast department, and interfaced with our 3rd party IT and application development supplier.

The BBC is the world’s leading public service broadcaster and remains impartial and independent. Everyday they create world-class programmes and content that informs, educates, and entertains millions of people in the UK and around the world.

In my role as a Senior Consultant/Team Lead at DACG, I acted as the project lead for enterprise-wide change management and training projects primarily focused on SAP. I also helped develop call center competencies with a focus on induction programs for call center start ups.

My journey began in South Africa, where I earned my Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Business Management and developed a passion for leveraging technology to solve real-world business challenges. Since then, I have built a career in Vancouver, BC, helping organizations streamline processes, deploy enterprise-level applications, and achieve their technology objectives efficiently.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of leading projects that:

- Enhanced system performance: Implemented ISO 20022 payments modernisation for various Canadian credit unions, enabling seamless, real-time data and analytics.
- Revitalized IT operations: Steered Vancity Credit Union’s core banking system upgrade, ensuring improved system efficiency and performance.
- Recovered failing projects: Program-managed the turnaround of a struggling ERP implementation for a retail client.

I also co-founded the Temenos Technical User Group for North American banks to further industry collaboration and knowledge-sharing on cutting-edge banking solutions.
