As a Director and Co Founder at Curium Solutions, I have over 15 years of experience in leading a specialist change management consultancy that helps organizations improve their change capability and project delivery in a sustainable way. I am also a Co Founder at Work Time Reduction Center of Excellence, a new initiative that aims to promote the benefits of working less and living more, without impacting the bottom line.

My passions include work time reduction, business transformation, operational excellence, consulting, and leadership. My mission is to change the way that the world works for Good.

We've never had a formal office working policy. We trust each other, focussing on outcomes and what our customers need. 

Our customers take us on some fantastic adventures. We work where and when we need to. 

In the coming weeks, we are off to Malaysia, Denmark, Poland, the USA and Derby 😁.

We trust our teams to do the right thing.

But one thing is sacred. 

💯 Our time together. 

This week, we spent the day together, bonding, celebrating, debating and planning our future. 

As you'd expect from a team that runs events for Bentley, Tropicana, and Volkswagen, the energy is high, and we laugh a lot. 

But that isn't enough, as well as our team days; at 12:30 pm every Monday, we have an all-hands call to update each other with the latest goings. 

That's when we celebrate our 1%s too. 🔥

We will soon be revealing a new Curium, something that will fuel us for the next five years and beyond. 

This is what we were talking about this week. We are almost there. 

One thing that won't change is our culture and energy levels. 

Thank you to our customers and supporters who are helping us to keep our eyes above the horizon.

People won't be pushed around, and the sooner we accept that, the better.

Employees rather than Employers have the upper hand today. 

Younger employees are unapologetically demanding and aren't interested in compromise. 

This frustrates some leaders, but they need to get on with it and stop making excuses for poor performance.

👉 Talent Attraction and Retention remain significant challenges. 

Imagine what it will be like when the economy picks up.

👉 As for AI, who knows what is going on? 

AI is a business tool, not a marketing tool, which some CEOs treat as boosting their share price.

Remember, there are plenty of headless chickens out there running around in circles, looking for kudos. 

So run your race, and take your time to work out how and where the latest technology can add value to your business. 

👉 Remember to involve people in the design and layout of the office. That way, they are more likely to want to come in. Collaborate. 

Everyone is still struggling with this.

The good news is property developers are planning and building some exciting developments. 

👉 Explain how technology helps people to do their jobs better rather than talking away their jobs. 

Don't just thrust it upon them and expect them to adopt it. 

Explore it together, and don't believe every headline you read about what your competitors are doing. 

👉 There is no one-size-fits-all approach to how and where we work. Find your unique path. Stop forcing the issue. 

Be patient, allow things to evolve, and accept the odd mistake. 

Behind every Harvard case study is a journey of untold difficulties.

People are the differentiator for businesses despite technological advances. 

 If your people don't change, your company's transformation will fail. 

So, create a learning environment. 

Always be curious.

Don't needlessly push things into your teams. 

When they see the value in something, they will tell you. 

Communication is the critical link between delivery and behaviour change amongst your teams. 

Having the courage and belief to be different will define the success of your transformation.

From Millions to Billions, it started with a Google search: “Find change management consultants in Wolverhampton.”

In 2018, we started working with Waterlogic, helping them with a system implementation. 

Our partnership has taken us all over the world, as they became part of a very successful global business, Culligan International. 

We've met a lot of great people along the way. 

It's a story I'm very proud of, and their success is thoroughly deserved. 

So, I thought I'd share a little about it with you.

How I am feeling 100 days into 2024, in 5 simple words: 

✅ Optimistic. 

Yes, there's a lot of uncertainty, but I'm increasingly comfortable operating in this environment. 

We've built up our resilience muscles since the pandemic. 

Cautious leaders will lose out. 

✅ Challenged. 

We’re working regionally with new partners and testing different marketing activities. 

Lots to learn. 

I'm also involved in the most exciting project of my career, but it is taking some working out. I love the challenge. 

✅ Excited.

We are in the final stages of testing our new proposition. 

We've got more focus groups to run. I'm convinced this will transform our (and our customers) businesses. 

✅ Realistic.

About my capabilities and limitations. I'm still stretching myself. 

But. 

I'm conscious of having a very talented group of people around me. 

I can support them more and pass on my knowledge and experience. 

The strength of the team is always about the sum of the parts. 

✅ Curious. 

I'm curious about what it is that prevents people from asking for help when they need it. 

Is it me? 

Is it them? 

Is it us?

Partners who challenge your thinking and fuel your ambition are like gold dust. Andy Wilkinson and Shari Bryan did that this week. 

On Wednesday, I had the pleasure of visiting the DRPG studious. We are working with the team on our new website. 

Or that was my plan. 

But having seen the studios, production facilities, cinema and VR room, we are destined to do so much more. 

I giggled to myself as I drove home, fueled by what I'd seen, and the passion of Andy and Shari. 

It's easy to be transactional these days, ticking the box and moving on. 

We've patiently built this particular relationship, as we are at a pivotal moment in our growth story, too. 

They got that, understood our position and did not rush us. 

That made us feel valued. 

The term “partnering” is thrown around too quickly, losing sight of its potential and actual meaning. 

When you find a partner who gives you goosebumps about the future, hold onto them and be curious about what is next. 

I think I just visited the James Bond School of Marketing, by the way.
