Angela practiced as a Registered Nurse and Registered Specialist Comm Public Health Nurse - OH. She retired in September, 2022 after 44 wonderful years of nursing. She practiced as an Occupational Health Adviser from 1989 and gained vast experience. As a registered nurse she worked in intensive care in 1985, coronary care in 1986 before training in occupational health at Teesside University in 1991. As an adviser she found herself becoming more involved in the psychological effects of work life balance and how one can affect the other. This encouraged her to follow her heart and study psychotherapy and clinical hypnotherapy since the beginning of 2007. She studied at ‘Awaken School of Outcome Oriented Psychotherapies’ on a four year programme and gained qualifications in Practitioner of Neurolinguistic Programming, Master Practitioner of Neurolinguistic Programming, Clinical Hypnotherapy, Advanced patterns in Psychotherapy and other related courses. She assisted on training programmes within the school and is interested in all areas of hypnopsychotherapy and continues to develop her skills by attending relevant courses for continuous professional development. Angela trained to become a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher with ‘Mindfulness Now’, Birmingham in 2014. This is most beneficial in building emotional resilience and one of the exceptional courses attended. Angela has a passion for her work, exploring what drives behaviour and how 'good' therapy can help people to live their lives in a more fulfilled way. Psychotherapy along with other modalities can enhance lives, help people achieve their goals and allow them to feel OK. Angela set up her own business in 2010 and practices under the name of Okhealth. She is dedicated in providing a high standard of care, guiding clients to achieve their goals and supporting them to work towards living a richer and fulfilling life.
