I still think of my business as a family business—we see each other and our clients as family. Growing up, our home was a place of togetherness. Now I enjoy opening up our home in the mountains to friends and relatives, and building new memories together. I also still believe in rewarding hard work. The money I saved working at my parents' business paid for my first car: a used Porsche 944. Eventually I turned that in for a "mom car," but running two top-performing State Farm agencies deserved a reward: a Porsche 911, custom painted the same kelly green as their millionth car.
