My role at Hangover Media is to deal with clients on a day to day basis and interacting and strategising about their brand and marketing activities to help them achieve their business goals. This also includes brand guidance to our various clients from startups to global brands that we work for. 

As a founder, my role includes but is not limited to business development, client retention and strategy. As a founder, you sometimes become the CEO (Chief Everything Officer), so everything and anything that comes your way for keeping your business goals on track.

With over 19 years of experience in branding, marketing, and design, I have developed a keen eye for crafting unique and powerful brand-building strategies. I hold an MBA in Marketing from the prestigious Somaiya Institute of Management Studies, where I honed my skills in market analysis, strategic planning, content development, and creative ideation.

As the founder and creative director of Hangover Media, an award-winning branding and communications agency, I lead a talented team in delivering a comprehensive suite of services, including brand building, marketing strategy (digital & offline), and web development. I enjoy collaborating with startups, as their energy and ambition fuel my own creative drive. Beyond my professional pursuits, I am passionate about reading about emerging technologies and startup ventures, and engaging in meaningful conversations with people who share my vision of creating positive impact.

What an exciting journey I took this Monday from Mumbai to Pune and Back with 4 of the finest entrepreneurs from India - Nikhil Kamath, Ghazal Alagh, Ritesh Agarwal and #ManishPoddar.

This trip to Pune turned into an unexpected journey of discovery and inspiration. 

As I hit the road and reached Panvel, the monotony of the usual Bollywood tunes prompted me to switch to something more stimulating. I stumbled upon a podcast hosted by Nikhil - 'WTF is with Nikhil Kamath'.

Alone and seeking motivation, I began with Ghazal’s segment as I started on to the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. 

Her story with Mama Earth is a testament to how personal experiences can significantly shape one’s entrepreneurial journey. It was the perfect kickoff to an inspiring day!

As I resumed my drive after a quick snack break, I delved into Nikhil's engaging discussion with Manish from Rare Rabbit. His narrative on dealing with family challenges to collaborating with top fashion brands worldwide was nothing short of motivational. 

By the time I reached Pune, Manish had painted a vivid picture of perseverance and innovation in the fashion industry.

After a day filled with meetings, my return journey was accompanied by the calm yet awe-inspiring story of Ritesh Agarwal from OYO. 

Starting from a small town in Odisha to becoming a dominant player in the hospitality industry, Ritesh’s journey is a powerful reminder of where ambition and tenacity can lead.

My key takeaways from this podcast:
1. Embrace flexibility—letting go of ego allows for growth and learning.
2. Your upbringing and childhood experiences invariably shape who you become.
3. True willpower is unstoppable; if you're determined to do something, nothing can prevent you from paving your way.

And lastly, I would appreciate Nikhil Kamath’s approach to the podcast with his guests which is a masterclass in simplicity and clarity. 

He crafts each question with a sharp focus on his audience: young entrepreneurs 20-21 years of age eager to learn without getting bogged down by jargon. 

His funda seemed very clear, extracting valuable insights that are directly applicable, making it a goldmine for anyone looking to start their own business.

What I really liked about Nikhil was his way of making a summary after the discussion with every guest and making a word cloud from the discussion. (Attached as images below.)

Each segment of the podcast not only made my journey more enjoyable but also left me with invaluable insights that resonate deeply with any aspiring entrepreneur. 

So next time, taking a long drive alone, ditch the same old bollywood music, and switch to insightful podcasts for your growth. It is like you are travelling with these people and getting inspired.

Blindly following trends is not the best way to grow. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t follow the trends, but it should be relevant to your feed.

Plan and strategise what you want to post and why you want to post it.

You should have a few things set in place before strategising your content 👇  

➡ Have a set goal or objective whether it is increasing brand awareness, driving website traffic, or boosting sales, clear objectives will guide content creation.

➡ You need to understand your target audience’s preferences and behaviours.

➡ Focus on creating good quality, valuable content that engages the audience, rather than solely aiming for a high frequency of posts. 

➡ Choose trends that align with your brand identity, values, and target audience to ensure your content feels authentic and resonates with your followers.

 ➡ Incorporate trending topics into your content calendar in advance, allowing time for brainstorming, content creation, and scheduling to ensure timely and relevant posts. By doing this, you can attract more attention and engagement from your audience who are interested in those topics.

➡ You can also try making new trends instead of following the existing ones.
