I’m in a meeting.

A senior manager is presenting. They are, without question, the most brilliant person in the room. I’ve read their brief, it’s sharp, insightful, and flawless.

But now, they're speaking. And they pause.
Just a beat too long.

I can see them searching, not for the idea (they have it), but for the word.

The "right" English word that will make them sound as sharp and credible as they actually are.

In that half-second, I see a flash of self-consciousness. And I see a few people in the room mentally check out.

THIS.

This is the silent tax of working in a non-native language.

We've been taught to equate polished fluency with intelligence. But really:

- Fluency doesn’t equal comfort.
- Speaking another language daily doesn’t mean you’ll sound as sharp as you actually are.
- Language is not intelligence.

If you’ve never had to mentally rehearse a simple thought before you dared to say it, that is an unacknowledged (and enormous) professional advantage.

Many people feel less confident, less articulate, or even less smart just because they’re communicating in a language that’s not their own.

So let’s normalize giving people more space and grace when they’re not using their native tongue.

Because their ideas might be just as powerful, they’re just being translated in real time.

It took me 48 hours to figure this out, but it will save me hundreds of hours this year. And I'll explain how my new automation can do this for you too. 

So yes please be proud of me because I built my first (semi) complex automation yesterday on Make.com 😍 

Here's what I did:

I realized I was losing hours every week just transferring notes from calls into candid, personal follow-up emails. I wanted to be present with the person, not worrying about capturing every bullet point.

So, I built an automation to do it for me (for free).

Note: I use Google Workspace outside of my 9-5, for networking, consulting, etc. - so Gemini is omnipresent in all of my documents, emails, calls, and workflows now. So this applies to Google users.

Here is the exact workflow I built using Make.com:

1. When I use Google Meet for my calls, Gemini transcribes the call.

2. The trigger: that transcript automatically lands in a specific Google Drive folder named "Meet Transcripts" (it also gets sent to my email). 

3. I set up a scenario in Make that watches that folder. When a new file lands, it sends the text to Gemini to analyze the Google Doc with a specific prompt: "Summarize this conversation and write a warm, relevant follow-up email based on the action items."

4. Gemini knows my voice and crafts the email, but doesn't send it (that would be dangerous). Instead, I set it up so it creates a Draft in my Gmail.

The result: I finish a call. I grab a coffee. By the time I sit back down, a perfectly written draft is waiting for me. I tweak it to add my personal touch, and hit send.

Why does this matter? Follow-ups are important, they build trust. 

If you drop the ball on follow-ups, you're missing a huge opportunity. 

Automation doesn't replace the human connection, it removes the friction so you can actually maintain the connection.

It took me 48 hours to build this and lots of tests. Some paid tools do this but I wanted a free one, Make.com allows for up to 2 scenarios for free :)

Curious, what is the one "boring" task you wish you could automate right now?

I’ve secretly been moving differently on LinkedIn lately. This is why you should too.

No, I’m not chasing reach (in fact, that’s gone down). I’ve been working to train the algorithm.

Because LinkedIn dropped its new 360brew.

If you’ve missed it, it’s the platform’s biggest transparency drop yet. So here’s full breakdown of what actually drives reach, visibility, and engagement.

It’s not rewarding activity anymore. It’s rewarding coherence.

❌ The old game of feeding the machine won’t work anymore. 
✅ The new strategy is to write for the reasoning engine. 

And the key theme here is: coherence. Yes, consistency matters more than ever. 

Here’s what you can do:

1. Profile = your personal brochure.
Front-load your value. 
The information at the very top of your profile (headline, first paragraph of "About") has the most weight and is read first by the AI. Write these like an exec summary of your professional biography. 

2. Content = your case studies.
Every post teaches the AI who you are. Go deep, not broad.
Structure your logic, add data or lists to be more specific.

Blend 3 post types: credibility (authority), connection (human), conversion (value).

👀 If people pause on your content, even for three seconds, LinkedIn amplifies it.

3. Engagement = you’re now training the algorithm.
Stop liking randomly. Comments matter more, PLUS you need to leave thoughtful comments on (only) the topics you want to be known for.

That’s how you “teach” LinkedIn who to show your content to.

🔥 Warm up the feed 10 minutes before posting, it works.

Essentially, it’s less about performing and more about positioning now.

That was my big takeaway from Camping TV's "Honest Marketers" meetup last week.

I met some incredible people, played a fun quiz run by the awesome Olga Andrienko, and enjoyed a night of true connection with Rubén Llorach and his fantastic team.

IRL is back (I hope long-term!)

The spontaneous laughs, the nuance you get from a shared look that you can't get from an emoji... we need more of this.

We spend so much time trying to engineer community and personal brands in a comments section, but real connection, the foundation of all good business, is built in person.

Companies like Camping TV and workfully here in Barcelona get it. They create branded spaces for people in the industry to connect, share, and interact with the brand without selling.

This is the new scalable model. The metrics aren't just vanity. They're trust, connection, and long-term relevance.

That is the entire point.

Ok, raise your hand if you've ever been the "fuzzy meeting person." 
🙋‍♀️ 🙋‍♀️ 🙋‍♀️ 
 
I’d schedule sessions with no clear agenda, no defined outcome, basically, “let's chat and figure it out.” 

I’d leave half-exhausted, half-confused, thinking: "Did anything just get decided? Who’s doing what? Could this have been an email?"

Probably everyone else thought that too. Waste of time. 

It took me a while, but I realized: the problem wasn’t the team. It was me. My meetings lacked clarity + intent.

So I decided to get scientific about it. I started analyzing my meeting transcriptions with CoPilot. I wanted to see:

- How much time I spent talking vs listening
- How often I stated an explicit decision
- Where confusion or rambling crept in

The results were… eye-opening. I wasn’t just scheduling fuzzy meetings, I was enabling them.

Here’s the system I built to fix it:

Step 1. Define the single purpose (SO IMPORTANT)
Every meeting needs a north star: “By the end, what should people know, decide, or do?”

Step 2. Structure the agenda around outcomes
List topics → assign a single desired outcome + time limit.

Step 3. Prep key points, lead with decisions
Skip long-winded context. Deliver the decision first, context second.

Step 4. Track your talk ratio
Use AI to see if you’re dominating or clarifying. Adjust accordingly.

Step 5. End with explicit next steps
Who does what, by when. No assumptions.

Step 6. Follow up in writing
1–2 bullets summarizing decisions + assigned owners (you can do this with AI). Send within 24 hours.
I also send transcripts if necessary. 

The transformation? Meetings went from draining and fuzzy → purposeful, productive, and trust-building. 

My coworkers leave knowing exactly what to do, and I finally stopped wondering why work wasn’t getting done. People like me more (hopefully?). 

Also, generally reduced my meeting frequency by 20ish%. Effectiveness frees us time, who knew. 

Moral: meetings are time, money, and trust. If people feel like you schedule fuzzy meetings, they'll be less committed. Use those steps to focus more on your clarity and intent.
