BUS-A 100 explains the fundamentals of financial statements and managerial accounting related to business organization planning, controlling, and decision-making. Various cost definitions are developed, and cost-volume-profit analysis is introduced as a critical financial planning and control skill. Teaching Assistants are faculty selected students who have previously completed the course, shown mastery of the course content and served as a peer mentor for at least two semesters.

• Created and implemented an in person discussion forum for students to ask questions and share resources, resulting in a 20% decrease in DFW (failing and withdrawal) rates and a 10% improvement in comprehensive final exam scores, was recognized by the American Accounting Association for publishing a research paper on successful teaching methods
• Optimised a case competition strategy and worked with a team of 2 TAs to represent Indiana University at the IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) national case competition
