Develop marketing strategies and implementation plans for the Schools Business, in collaboration with
internal teams and external agencies, that contribute to delivery of top line revenue and positively position the Pearson brand.

Develop, manage and report on highly effective, integrated campaigns with a combined budget of just
under R5m.
Responsible for the successful launch and execution of the lead campaigns for the Schools marketing team.
Provide guidance and support to team members.
Own and deliver the creation of engaging marketing design elements across multiple platforms.
Analyse and report on customer and market insights and data from internal and external sources.
Optimise active campaigns using analytics based on digital sources and agency partner recommendations.
Using sales and market data, collaborate with content and sales teams to stimulate new product ideas.
Own the role of key contact for all websites within the Schools portfolio, including the Pearson eStore.
Created the www.classroomsolutions.co.za teacher community platform and responsible for content
management, driving new sign-ups and strategies for lead gen using this platform.
Create artwork, using Photoshop and InDesign, for digital campaigns, social media platforms and website banners.

Head of Marketing: Schools

To coordinate and execute highly effective and integrated marketing campaigns for the Schools Pre-School to Grade 7 market through detailed planning and collaboration with the marketing team, other internal functions and external agencies and vendors where applicable.

Market Specialist: Preschool - Grade 7

Key Outputs:

Managing and informing digital marketing strategy – includes social media, mobile and email marketing campaigns
Producing company and product branded material (catalogues, brochures, folders, banners etc)
Advertising – print and radio campaigns
Project management
Website content management
Publicity for new titles
Supplier relations
Administration

Duties:
Working within budgets to achieve project objectives
Information gathering, writing copy, liaising with publishers, designers, proofreaders and printers
Draft letters and memoranda to provincial offices and departmental officials
Co-ordinate website maintenance
Google Analytics
Create and manage social media pages (Facebook and Twitter)

Highlight competitor strategies.
Act as competitor consultant to assist team in collating & interpreting competitor data
Highlight and make recommendations on potential brand problems.
Monitor brand personalities in line with brand strategies.
Co-ordinate strategy to monitor the ongoing customer experience
Actively participate and manage new product/brand initiative research
On an ongoing basis, identify quick wins, new competitor innovations, gaps in the customer experience
Actively project manage primary research projects
Provide suggestions and advice on best practice for brand, communication and consumer experience.

Managing work-flow into the production/DTP department
Managing all contracts and incoming  fees for each publication
Contacting clients at all stages of production process
Handling client disputes
Liaising with suppliers
Support structure for the DTP office
Assistance with launch/event co-ordination
Managing distribution of publications

Updating all content on the site, including all graphics.
Troubleshooting all problems related to the website
Liaising with developers and ISP’s
Created and maintained an e-mail database
Ensuring all advertisements are accurate and approved before going to print.  
General assistance in the DTP office

I have over 10 years of experience in the marketing industry which includes experience in above-the-line and digital marketing as well as campaign and brand management.
