Modern life in India summed up in 4 sentences:

You can listen to your child without mentally typing mails.

We meditate for 10 minutes, then doomscroll for 2 hours.
That is like brushing your teeth while eating cake straight from the box.

Most of us are doing some version of this every single day:

We tell ourselves, “Aaj jaldi soyenge”,
then lie in bed catching up on reels, replying to messages, checking who viewed our story till 1 am.

We call it a “break from work”,
Then keep our work email open on the side, just in case the boss needs something.

On paper, it looks like balance.
Self-care on one side, stress on the other.
In reality, your nervous system is confused.

For a few minutes, you tell your body,
“You are safe, you can relax.”

Then for the next 2 hours you’re again intensely stressed. 

This is why so many people tell me, “Anuja, I am doing everything. Meditation, journaling, yoga, gratitude. Still I feel my brain is fried.”

It is not that your tools are wrong.
It is that your nervous system is getting mixed messages.

Short bursts of regulation,
on top of a lifestyle that keeps the stress high. 

If you want to change how your system feels, you do not need 3 more habits.
You need smaller tweaks to your life. 

For example:

– After meditation, keep your phone away for 20 minutes instead of picking it up immediately
–  Before sleep, choose one low-stimulating activity, reading, light stretching, drawing, instead of “just 5 minutes” of news or reels
– After a stressful meeting, do one tiny regulation activity like walking, or slow breathing before jumping into the next task

Your nervous system learns from repetition. Ten small moments of honesty with your body across the day are better than one dramatic “self-care” session followed by 23 hours of chaos.

This is exactly why I built Relax Play Thrive the way I did
So regulation fits into real life, not some ideal schedule none of us have.

In 2025, more than 500 people across 144 plus pincodes in India used it for 5 to 15 minutes 2-4 times a week and started feeling the difference in sleep, patience, mood, focus, and overall energy.

2 years ago, when I was working on Relax Play Thrive, I could count my potential readers on my fingers. Maybe ten people in my circle really knew what I was trying to do.

Today, that same book has been shortlisted for the Popular Choice AutHER Awards 2026.
And for me, this is bigger than an award.

It means the idea behind RPT is finally stepping into rooms it always belonged in,
a national conversation about what health in India really means.

From day one, my goal was simple:
To move stress from being a private struggle to a public, legitimate topic. Something we talk about in families, in offices, in policy rooms.

In the last two years, I have watched RPT travel to 100-plus cities and 140-plus pincodes,
sit on kitchen tables, office desks, bedside tables, be read by teenagers, parents, founders, teachers, and doctors.

Every time someone told me: “More people need this,”
I felt both gratitude and urgency.
