Hi! I'm Anu. I moved to Switzerland from Finland about a decade ago and have been immersed in the tech world for 15+ years, wearing various hats. I see myself as a versatile product and tech generalist, favouring a hands-on, practical approach. Most of my time in Switzerland has been at Batmaid, where we grew a small Swiss startup into something much bigger. I enjoy figuring out how to make technology genuinely useful for people, not just theoretically impressive. Data, discovery, and design are key tools for me, but real-world usefulness and impact is the ultimate goal. What matters to me: tech should benefit everyone. That's why I've been involved with Kiwix (making knowledge accessible offline) since November 2024, initially as a volunteer and now as a Product Manager since May 2025. I volunteered with #herHACK (Switzerland's largest female-led hackathon, in November 2024) and won an "AI for Connectivity" hackathon in February 2025 with my team mate Amaizu Melody. We then proceeded to achieve 3rd place in the follow-up hackathon in Barcelona with an extended team. I get energised by collaborative projects with tangible impact, even if they're not the most glamorous or hyped. And I value working with people who prioritise doing things thoughtfully over simply doing them quickly. My career path has been a bit of a winding road, which has given me different perspectives on problem-solving. Right now, alongside my role as a part-time Product Manager at Kiwix, I'm also exploring what other full-time and part-time opportunities might be a good fit (therefore: #OpenToWork). I'm continuously exploring new tools, creating and building things, learning by doing, taking courses, listening to podcasts, reading, following world events, and engaging with various tech communities.
