• Built and managed company's first content marketing team, including managing all hiring and onboarding to develop high performing team tackling four core personas/audiences: Marketing, Product, Growth, and Engineering.
• Chief editor for all public facing company content, averaging 20,000 words weekly, across blogs, website, social media, partner channels, and more.  
• Served as interim marketing leader during CMO's parental leave, partnering directly with the CEO to transition the team to an all new company directive and new﻿ marketing team structure.
• Responsible for company-level goal around audience growth, including briefing full executive team weekly, identifying areas of opportunities, and delivering status reports. Identified a leak in the funnel and implemented a multi-channel plan to bridge the gap and improve performance by 10%.
• Led team through change management seasons - from downturn to layoffs. 
• Partnered with Head of Marketing Ops to rebrand and relaunch company website, leading to outperforming traffic goals 105%. 
• Worked directly with interim COO to develop the company's new messaging and wrote all copy across the website for relaunch. Interviewed customers to deeply understand and direct our brand and content.
• Managed website SEO, including identification and removal of all technical debt, increasing site health from score of 60 to 93 and improving blog visibility for both clicks (+45%) and impressions (+114%) year-over-year.
• Spearheaded 2023 SEO-centered content strategy - including the launch of a new content property, training team on a multi-channel distribution strategy, and managing collaboration and productivity across cross-functional teams and our network of executive partners. Resulted in 15% MoM growth in website sessions and ranking on over 150 target keywords within three months.
• Partnered with finance, data, and operations leaders to determine annual budgets and forecast.

• Founded and led business through two rounds of fundraising, multiple pitch competitions (including SXSW), and startup accelerators. 
• Set vision, ran customer interviews to develop personas, managed company board and advisors, and built 5-person team in Burbank, CA.
• Launched our first product, a Google Chrome extension using machine learning and natural language processing to improve consumer news experiences with contextual history on any mainstream topic. 
• Ran weekly newsletter uncovering hidden stories lost in current front page algorithms from branding, email distribution, editorial strategy, and advertising partners. Grew list to over 25,000 weekly readers with reader NPS of 90.

• Joined as first marketer for new division seen as startup within the company, now known as HubSpot's Sales and CRM offerings. 
• Launched website, blog, and social properties for new product from scratch.
• Developed copy for early iterations of product onboarding, retention, and virality efforts for the new products our division was building.
• Built new, risky content playbook that contributed over $50,000 in net new revenue within months, showing viability as a long-term model for the company. 
• Played key role in this startup division's growth from zero to $1 million in annual recurring revenue — a leading metric in company financials for becoming publicly traded ($HUBS).

Growth Marketer, Content

• Strategized, invented, and executed on content campaigns that generated 50,000+ leads for our sales team every month. 
• Managed and grew social media channels to hundreds of thousands of followers, then converting that audience into content leads for sales team. using them primarily as a lead generation source. 
• Wrote blog content weekly for an audience over 1M email subscribers, ultimately penning the #1 most read article on the site.
• Launched a series of top-of-the-funnel content offers on stock photos that collectively generated over 350,000 views and over 150,000 leads generated - compared to average of ~8,000 views and ~2,000 leads. 
• Broke company record by launching a content-based campaign that attracted nearly 1,800 product qualified leads in a single day (compared to the usual ~50). In its first year, the campaign generated ~500K in annual revenue for the business. The approach in many company's today is considered PLG (product-led growth).
• Managed the marketing internship program to help attract and nurture talent for company growth.

One of the most important elements of our entire marketing strategy at Ashby is our investment in Community. Our biggest differentiator? Rather than sitting in one team, Community is spread across *every* marketer’s scope of work in some form. And expanding the Ashby Community across all surfaces was one of the callouts in our Series D fundraise earlier this year. 

To help us further strengthen this muscle, I'm #hiring for a Content Lead to take ownership of Online Communities and bring various ownership areas under one central owner and focus. This includes:

➡️ LinkedIn: Even as the director of the team, I have owned LinkedIn monitoring for the past 2.5 years (which may surprise some, but shows how we think of LinkedIn as a strategic investment vs a “channel to monitor”). 

➡️ Slack: The incredible Shannon Ogborn has brought our RecOps Community to an incredible state ready for further exploring as she doubles down on in-person Community initiatives and paves way for someone new to focus on virtual Community initiatives.

➡️ Reddit: We've used AI to build some pretty unique insights tooling (shout out Antonio Vidal) for this channel, and know someone out there is itching to evolve and improve how brands show up in conversations (and resulting LLM search) through breathing new life into Reddit strategy.
