😊 Personal Happiness: Treating others with kindness not only brightens their day but also brings joy to our own lives. Positive interactions create a cycle of happiness that benefits everyone involved.

💔 Scar Tissue: Hurtful actions based on titles can leave lasting wounds. Is a moment of superiority worth causing someone long-term pain? Let's choose kindness over cruelty, every time.

And they ruin your career. We're tired of meeting people in business who only want to make a sale at all costs.

Networking for the sake of networking is stupid.

Fewer deeper relationships is far better than hundreds of shallow relationships built on top of transactions that force us to lose all meaning in our work.

Pay attention to people who support you during your darkest moments.

LeanIn Latina - NY Pop Up Event

NYC Volunteer Opp below! 

For the past 7 weeks, I have been volunteering with the Asylum Support Clinic (ASC) which is a non-profit that helps migrants (called Friends in the program) apply for asylum. I was paired with a translator (pictured) and a Friend and I was the document drafter. Every week for 3 hours, we would talk with our friend, who would tell us her story of why she came to New York. 

Honestly, these turned into my favorite days of the week. The three of us got along so well and still text on whatsapp. Last week our Friend brought us candy from Ecuador. I brought her some Magnolia Cupcakes. This past Tuesday we finished her application and submitted it! I was really impressed by ASC's staff and the lawyers - they are super organized and helpful and were able to answer all of my questions. 

The ASC is looking for volunteers this next Cycle (May 14 - June 25)! You can apply to be a Translator or document drafter (knowing Spanish or French is not needed, but it's helpful) or a child care watcher.
