Arafath Hossain's Linkedin Analytics

As a Data Scientist at Illinois State University (ISU) for about five years, I have been developing and maintaining multiple machine learning based predictive models to identify at-risk students and design early intervention strategies. I have also created web applications that help financial aid administrators leverage a machine learning model to match the right candidate and allocate aid dollars. My mission is to apply data science and analytics to solve real-world problems and enhance decision making in higher education. My technical skills include Python, R, SQL, FastAPI, Flask, Plumber, Shiny, AWS, Oracle, Git, and Docker. I have authored large and complex SQL queries to set up data warehouse tables, wrote scripts to augment ETL processes, and set up the in-house data analytics web application hosting platform "RedBirdAnalytics" using a Docker-based solution. In addition, I teach data analytics and data science courses to graduate students at Lewis University as an adjunct professor. I have a Master of Science in Quality Management and Analytics and a Master of Business Administration from ISU.
