In 2001 my journey in shipbuilding began. Today, I am pleased to use my expertise and experience to bring added value to the whole sector. In order to put the Estonian top experts in shipbuilding on the world map, I created the (EMI) Estonian Marine and Manufacturing Initiative. Connecting domestic companies, Estonian Marine offers world-class quality and final products. I thank, from the bottom of my heart, the companies and people who have trusted me to lead this initiative. So, how did the ball get rolling? How did a highschool factory boy turn into a sales executive in an international company within a few years? A summer job at Saajos AS, started in 2004, soon grew into a years-long journey characterised by continuous sales work and growth of export capabilities on foreign markets. Saajos AS produces fire doors for ships and is one of the market and quality leaders in this area. With 170 business days on travels and amazing sales numbers I proved that export from Estonia can be a lucrative/profitable business, and even more, lead to amazing success stories. To this day, the French export relationship that I initiated is running in Saajos. Awesome! Once connected to the marine industry, I have always found my way back to it even after spending a few years away. From TNF Inexa AB I gained valuable European-Asian export experience. I have also experienced that human abilities have limits and after 18 months I temporarily put the brakes on sales work and concentrated on something that is truly important in life - creating a family. In 2017 I joined Velvet’s team and within a few years we have positioned ourselves as valuable agents in shipbuilding related architecture. And so, by connecting companies with different competencies, EMI brings even greater added value for the customer. I strongly believe that all successful business is based on trust and respect between partners. These are the values that underline my 15 years in the shipbuilding sector.
