I have been involved in the ESG-flagship AI/ML initiative at Grünenthal R&D called "Data-driven human disease understanding" from conceptualization through to active hands-on implementation as well as leading a team of external Data Science consultants to execute a range of Probability-of-success improving projects:
a) GraphML based Therapeutic Target Identification & Indication prioritization.
b) Generative AI for de novo drug design in Drug Discovery (Hit-finding, Hit-to-Lead and Lead Optimization)
c) Bayesian modelling & Monte Carlo simulations in Translational Pharmacology.
d) Optimizing Clinical study designs and analyses using ML-enabled Deep Phenotyping in Drug Development. Driving adoption of RWD and Causal Inference methodologies.
e) Driving adoption of Digital Health Technology products (Digital Biomarkers and Digital Endpoints) in Drug Development and RWE generation.

Data Scientist, Associate Director

As the Lead Data Scientist, I was involved in the following pilot R&D projects: 
a) Machine Learning for sub-population identification for biomarker discovery & prognostic enrichment of clinical trial population.
b) Deep Learning on large-scale knowledge graphs for drug (and target) safety profile prediction.
c) Causal ML on RWDs for evidence generation.

Data Scientist, Postdoctoral Researcher

I was involved in research projects in Machine Learning for Personalized Medicine applications in Oncology. The work involved publishing original research methodologies in top ranking journals, assisting teaching activities and mentoring newer graduate students.

Senior Research Assistant

I was analysing brain cancer (GBM) patient data: omics and other clinical data. The work involved running bioinformatics pipelines in the context of BMBF funded project IDENTIREST. I was responsible for transcriptomics and genomics data analysis with the ultimate goal of target identification and validation and designing of novel targeted therapies. The predictive algorithms which I developed were intended to optimize clinical decision making facilitating better diagnosis and treatment of GBM patients.

Research Assistant

I am an AI/ML leader working in Pharma R&D. In my various roles as a Data Scientist with increasing levels of responsibilities, I have been involved in conceptualising, executing and subsequently leading projects across the board in Drug Discovery, Translational Pharmacology and Clinical Development as well as in Digital Health. 

Currently playing a central role in Grünenthal R&D's “Data-driven human disease understanding” ESG-flagship with a mandate to stand up and operate Probability-of-Success (PoS) improving AI/ML projects. Previously to Pharma, I have worked in Academia on Clinical Bioinformatics and multi-omics translational projects in Personalised Oncology area.
