We work on automotive software for ECUs or Electronic Control Units in lots of high and low end vehicles. The framework is handled by a relatively small group of highly competent and energetic  engineers and support staff. The Lear India Engineering Center handles many US and European automotive clients. Some of my work involves understanding automotive software and related guidelines.

Sr. Tech Lead

Aeronautics Development Agency

My work at ADA, Bangalore as a research fellow involved assisting with integrating on- board systems for ADA’s prototype aircraft. Assignments included developing systems requirement specification, implementing them according to a DoD standard. Work revolves around C coding, Motorola 68332 Micro-controller programming, MIL-1553B (similar to LAN networking) and Rs422 (similar to Rs232) testing. Documenting code and creating reports for testing are also major responsibilities.

Research Fellow - B

Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay

My work at IIT Bombay as a research assistant involved assisting with integrating on board sensors, positioning system, data logging and assisting with management of flight navigation and guidance algorithms for a miniature aerial vehicle. Work revolved around C coding, MATLAB, Simulink, Real-Time Linux Simulation and Motorola 68332 Microcontroller programming. This project is supervised by CASDE, Aerospace Dept., IIT Bombay. Video Processing for automatic horizon detection was simulated using a web-cam, colored cardboard paper and Sun’s Java Development Kit (JMF 2.1.1e)

Research Assistant

Zenith Electronics Corporation

As part of the R&D team at Zenith Electronics Corporation, USA my assignments included managing transmitter code, creating test vectors and analyzing real-time data captures for their Advanced Modem Architecture project. The Advanced Modem Architecture project in simple terms is based on an OFDM concept (Reed Solomon Encoding, Turbo encoding, IFFT, sync addition).

R & D Engineer

University of Missouri-Rolla

Prior to Zenith I had been studying as a graduate student at the Electrical Engineering department at UMR. As part of the UMR image processing team my responsibilities included studying filters for dermatoscopy images. Primary requirements of the medical team were automatic separation of skin color from tumor, detecting hair, bubbles and areas of granularity. Also assisted with setting up a lab camera which clocked up to 1000 fps.

Graduate Teaching and Research Assistant

Everyday, one can either learn or one can teach...i think of myself as either a student or a teacher on any given day. Long term objectives include starting my own outfit. Short term objectives include learning as many engineering protocols and frameworks as possible.
