As the Pavement Design and Management Project Lead, I -

- Conducted in-depth forensic evaluations of pavement distress, mark pavement coring and repair locations to ensure accurate and representative subsurface data collection

- Coordinated and supervised field testing activities such as coring, DCP, and FWD with the client and field technicians to ensure compliance with project timelines.

- Analyzed pavement performance/testing data in accordance with the California Highway Design Manual to achieve cost-effective pavement design recommendations for resurfacing existing or rehabilitating new roadways/parking lots.

- Updated and maintained the Pavement Management Program (PMP) databases by conducting pavement condition surveys based on MTC-modified ASTM D6433 for multiple cities and counties across Northern California.

- Managed the project scope and budget by coordinating with stakeholders, scheduling client meetings, preparing proposals, presentations, and reports, and ensuring Quality Control (QC) measures.

- Developed PMP decision trees incorporating maintenance & rehabilitation (M&R) strategies from meetings with clients, and local construction materials costs; analyzed various budget scenarios to meet project goals, based on the Pavement Condition Index (PCI).

- Conducted Asset Data Collection such as pavement striping, marking, and traffic sign inventory; Also, conduct assessments of non-pavement assets, such as sidewalks, and curb ramps, as part of asset management projects.

- Compiled technical reports to provide detailed project insights and recommendations under the guidance of registered professional engineers in California

Project Engineer

University of Utah

Postdoctoral Researcher

- Completed 4 funded collaborative projects at the University of Utah as a Graduate Research Assistant for UDOT, USDOT, and MPC. Conducted, managed, and supervised extensive laboratory testing on BBR, SCB-IFIT, IDEAL-CT

- Successfully managed projects with a total budget estimated to be over $1,100,000 and resulting in nine internationally peer-reviewed publications and UDOT reports. Presented research outcomes in six international conferences including Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting

- Optimized low-temperature and intermediate-temperature performance resulting in a reduction of 20% design and maintenance cost of asphalt pavements.

- Conducted traffic flow and crash analysis on UDOT traffic data and designed three alternatives for a two-lane highway.

- Analyzed trip distribution of a city of 200,000 inhabitants and optimized trip distribution modelling and modes of transportation.

Graduate Research Assistant

- Instructed and mentored junior and senior-year undergraduate students in the CVEEN 3515: Civil Engineering Materials laboratory course for 4 semesters based on AASHTO and ASTM standards

- Supervised laboratory safety protocols according to the EPA guidelines; maintained appropriate learning environment and excellent interpersonal communication, received positive feedback

- Led University of Utah team in ‘CRH Americas Asphalt Mixture Design Competition 2018-2019’ participated by 10 universities; obtained 4th place overall and received top scores on report writing and presentation

Graduate Teaching Assistant

Public Works Department, Government of Bangladesh

- Designed reinforced concrete structures for government-funded design-bid-build and design-build projects under the supervision of a Senior Structural Engineer following the ACI Building Code and BNBC Code

- Collaborated with architects, engineers, drafters, estimators, and contractors; analyzed and finished structural design of six residential buildings following local laws, specifications, and policies; emergency response to construction works 

- Reviewed contract documents and budget estimates, design specifications, wrote design reports, performed field inspections on construction sites based on statutory and regulatory policies and guidelines on behalf of the government

Assistant Engineer (33rd BCS Cadre)

Institute of Water Modelling

- Conducted research on saline water intrusion in coastal regions of Bangladesh due to Climate Change, as part of 3 government-funded projects worth $600,000; contributed to public reports, presentations, and publications.

- Coordinated field survey activities, and processed collected data using ArcGIS and AutoCAD to prepare maps and drawings.

- Ensured compliance with local, state, and federal regulations at program and project levels; communicated updates and interpreted codes, policies, procedures, design and submittal criteria, and applicable standards to supervisors and committees, as well as the Ministry of Water Resources.

Junior Engineer

Currently serving the Golden State as Transportation Engineer in the Office of Advance Planning at Caltrans District 4. 

A certified Pavement Inspector by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) in the Bay Area of California. Possesses a proven track record of inspecting, leading, developing, and updating Project Management System (PMS) databases for various municipalities throughout California.

Additionally, possesses 6+ years of experience in asphalt material testing, specifically establishing cold-temperature Performance Related Specifications (PRS) in Balanced Mix Design (BMD) for UDOT. 

Demonstrates exceptional work ethic, collaboration abilities, and goal-driven performance, leading to the execution of four collaborative projects: a team composed of researchers, pavement engineers, technicians, and subcontractors from state and local highway agencies.
