Growth Marketer

In 2022, I was working with one of the biggest YouTubers in India with 4.4 Million subscribers.

While working, I travelled with him & attended events across the country.

And somewhere I thought: 
“One day, we’ll do an event together.”

Fast forward to 2025.

I got a call from Zeeshan:
“Raj, should we do an event together?”

I didn’t hesitate. I said - “Yes of course”.

And the "CAN event" happened in Mumbai.

New city and audience.
I had only 6 days to prepare.

To make it more interesting… all flights to Indore got cancelled the day before.

For a moment, I thought: bus, train, anything… we’re going.

Thankfully, the flight happened. And the event too.

- We didn’t change our online slides
- We didn’t over-engineer the room
- We simply brought execution offline

People wrote their niche statements on pen and paper with AI helping them.

Then we tested the 5130 script live.
WhatsApp. Instagram. Simple actions.

And slowly… People started getting leads.
Some got international leads.

I told them at end:
 “If you do this once a week, consistently, ₹1 crore in 6-12 months is realistic.”

When I asked who wanted to go deeper, almost every hand went up.

14 people registered for the next level with Growthat.

I’ve done 30+ one-to-one calls with my competitors.

And made 2 Cr+ by stealing their brains (for free)

Here’s how I did it:

1/ Find your competitors

Most service providers offer a free “discovery call.” They want leads. Your goal is- you want insights. 

2/ Book the call

Book a slot with them. I booked 2–3 calls per week. Over 3 months, that became 30+.

3/ Observe everything on the call

What exact words do they use?
How do they talk about your pain?
Do they lead with “content”, “leads” or “brand”?
Do they show a deck? Or run the call free-flow?
How long do they take before they pitch?
How do they pitch?
How much do they charge? Etc

4/ Ask questions: not dumb ones.

Ask:
“What do most of your clients struggle with at the start?”
“Why is your approach better than others?”
“How do you deliver results?”

5/ Take notes, record the call for later

After each call, I wrote down:
→ Their positioning and price range
→ What problems they solve & their offers
→ What they “don’t” talk about (gaps = opportunity)

Then I used all the learnings to build my business fast.

It’s simple.

You don’t need to “guess” what works in your industry.

Just talk to the people who are already selling.
They’ll tell you everything.

I grew 10X faster because of 20 minutes of this habit:

Doing competitor research agreesively.

In my first year in business, I spent a lot of time inside ad libraries.

- Facebook (Meta) Ad Library
- Meta Ad Library
- LinkedIn Ad Library
- YouTube Ad Library

It helped me to understand demand.
I wanted to see what people were actually selling.

Here’s what I always look for:

1. First, what are competitors selling?
If an offer keeps showing up, there’s a reason. Markets don’t reward randomness.

2. Second, which keywords are repeated across ads?
Things like: AI agents, Life coaching, LinkedIn branding
Keywords show the intent of market.

3. Third, how aggressively is the account advertising?
Open the advertiser’s profile.
Look at how many ads they’re running.
If someone is running multiple ads at the same time, they’ve cracked something.

4. Fourth (and most people miss this): inactive ads.
These show you what didn’t work.. and what was tested before something did.

That’s how you get years of experimentation… for FREE.

Have this mindset shift as early as possible:

Your competitors are not the problem.
They’re your “biggest” teachers.

They already paid for the lessons that you can learn for free.

Your job is simply to observe, learn, and adapt.

Stop relying on “gut feeling” alone. That won’t scale.

P.S. Do you study your competitors?

Why ₹60,000 converted better than ₹89,000 for me (Even when the value was higher.)

At one of my offline events, we tested two prices.

₹89,000
₹60,000 + GST

We had the same audience, used the same content and also promised the same outcome.

But something interesting happened.

₹60,000 "moved" people.
₹89,000 made them "pause."

Here’s why 👇

Most buyers don’t calculate value logically.
They FEEL price first.

₹60k comes in the “I can manage this” zone.
₹89k enters the “this is almost a lakh” zone.

And that shift changes everything.

₹29k is not a very big difference.
But their "psychological brackets" matter more than math.

Another thing I noticed:

When people heard ₹60k, they leaned forward.
When they heard ₹89k, they leaned back.

Same people. But so different energy.

So we didn’t touch what was already working.

We kept the "winning number."
And upgraded them later- once trust was built.

That’s a big pricing lesson most people miss:

👉 Don’t price based on what you CAN charge.
👉 Price based on what people can say yes to FAST.

Especially if it’s their "first transaction" with you.

Price is not about value but It’s about reducing friction at the decision point.

If you’re pricing your services right now, ask yourself:

Are you optimizing for
– maximum revenue per sale
or
– maximum decisions per room?

Big difference.
