Being in the IT Software industry has been a dream of mine since I was 17. I dreamt of being a Web Developer or Software Engineer who codes and creates cool things. Fast forward to 2021, I was allowed to put my skills to the test and work in a software development team at my current company - Third Space Global. I struggled to add value to my time and better support them with our work. Throughout this time, I got the chance to work as a WordPress developer while supporting the documentation of engineers on Jira. About a month into the role, I was proposed to support documentation and testing if required to system support engineers. Other than this, I had the time to invest in actually learning about Quality assurance in detail. I then pitched my idea to my higher-ups and got the green light to test it out on our systems at the time. The results and value in releasing systems with fewer issues then solidified the need for a QA Division. We have now established and tested more than 15 systems and have also been able to introduce automation testing. Today, I get the honor of doing what I love while making an impact on my peers and adding value to the company.
